After a couple slow days and hearing the fish were around, we finally got into some yesterday! Elena and Jessica showed the boys how it was done and boated 4 nice fish!

I had booked this trip for my friends and I to help in celebrating my big 5-0 birthday and had much higher expectations than what we had experienced. The boat was pretty small for a group of 6 and the captain did not seem prepared. The Striped Bass seemed to want live bait, but the captain only had 2 or 3 of them aboard. Additionally, the description indicated that snacks, sodas, water etc would be provided and this was not the case at all. Only 2 fish were landed out of a group of 6 so... More

Hell Bryan, Sorry the trip didn’t meet your expectations. You brought up a couple points I’d like to reply to. 1- The boat is only 21’9”. I agree not very big especially for 6 large men. That is the reason for the weight limit and detailed description of the vessel. YOUR GROUP FAR EXCEEDED THE WEIGHT LIMIT. In hindsight I shouldn’t have allowed your whole party, that was my bad. Sorry the trip didn’t meet your expectations. You brought up a couple points I’d like to reply to.
1- The boat is only 21’9”. I agree not very big especially for 6 large men. That is the reason for the weight limit and detailed description of the vessel. YOUR GROUP FAR EXCEEDED THE WEIGHT LIMIT. In hindsight I shouldn’t have allowed your whole party, that was my bad. It impacted the trip more than you know.

2- Groups typically catch their own bait. You benefited from the group before you having a few extra, I made that point to you. Typically if a group doesn’t catch their own bait then they’re using lures for the whole trip.

3- I never supply snacks. There was definitely a misunderstanding there. However, I thought we resolved that issue by bringing you to the marina for food and we landed later than usual on the back end.

So Bryan, I’m sorry I didn’t meet your expectations. That said, I would never want to have a group like yours on my boat again. I don’t want people thinking that it’s okay to break the weight limit, or that it’s my responsibility to feed people or that I can guarantee a catch. Thanks for bringing up those important points.
