If you are in the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area looking for a great fishing experience, this is it! Capt. Lee was willing to start our 5 hour trip at 6 am this morning to beat the heat when most other charters started at 7 and only offered a 4 hour experience. After loading the boat, we made a run to the bay and absolutely had a blast catching most big trout with some sheepshead, redfish, Spanish, and a few mangrove snapper thrown in. This is where we caught the 38” bull redfish that put up a fight for around 15 minutes. After the sun got up we went back to the river to chase some more reds and were not disappointed. Catching several big reds With lady fish and trout thrown in as well, also losing several large fish that just came unbuttoned after long fights. All in all, the trip was a super experience with Capt Lee having a lot of patience with the lady anglers on the boat but also letting the guys cast and bait their own rods not treating us like kids as some Captains will do. The boat and all gear was top notch making it a very relaxing trip and definitely one we will pay for again in the future! Capt. Lee hit it out of the park with his gear, fishing experience and knowledge, and great helpful attitude!

I went out with my friend and my five year old son for a morning trip.  We had been told by more than one guide that we were crazy if we thought we could get on redfish and trout in mid-August.  Lee got us on enough fish that we ended up with enough trout and redfish to feed ten people that evening.  Even more important to me, my five year old son (who loves to fish) was on fish all morning and even hauled in two redfish that were north of five and seven pounds.  Lee was patient with him and had him on fish constantly.  It was a great time for all of us.  We will definitely book again next time we are in town.

Our group of 4 decided last minute that we wanted to do some fishing while we were down on vacation. We looking into the weather for the week and although it showed some rain for the day we were looking at booking, we decided to give it a shot. We looked around a little and found Mobile Bay Charters and I’m glad we did! We made a booking the day before our trip. Later that evening, Capt. Lee called to check in with us and to make sure we didn’t have any questions. He answered what questions we had and was professional in his responses. We got a location setup to meet him in Fort Morgan the following morning so we could get on the water! The next morning rolled around and some storms had moved into the area (as expected). Capt. Lee gave us a called about 1.5 hours before we were suppose to meet him to talk about what we wanted to do. He noticed on his weather radar that some storms were rolling through the area and that the boat ramp we were going to meet him as was expected to be covered up in rain most of the morning. He asked if we would like to meet him in Foley (45 minute drive from Fort Morgan) and put in there as it seemed calmer and we would likely have a better chance at fishing. He made sure to let us know that the weather wasn’t being very friendly to us and to not get hopes to high but would try to get us out in some areas we could fish. I checked with our group and we all agreed we wanted to try so I let Capt. Lee know to plan on us being at Foley for the start of the trip.

While driving to Foley, we drove through some pretty heavy storms most of the way but just before we reached the boat dock it let up. We meet up with Capt. Lee and off we took on the water. He did a great job at getting us set up and trying a couple different baits till we found what the fish liked. We would fish in an area until it seemed like the action died down or we were getting a bunch of hits from the wrong type of fish and we would move to a new location while at the same time dodging any pop-up rain clouds. We managed to get settled in at a few different locations and caught a mixture of fish from Bass, Catfish, Speckled Trout and the one we saw the most, Redfish! While on the trip, we caught a nice 15-16 lb. catfish that we decided to let go and we also caught a Lady Fish with just a bobber! The trip was exciting and we enjoyed every minute of it. We can’t wait to go back for another trip (hopefully with no storms) and catch more fish!

We have used Captain Lee Robinson before and he has always given us a great trip. Today was no exception. There were hitches, but they were quickly resolved. It was hot.  We had booked a half-day trip of inshore fishing in Mobile Bay. We caught speckled trout, mackerel, red snapper, lady fish, red fish, more catfish than we wanted and a couple of other species which Captain Lee identified for us, but whose name escapes at the moment. My son and I had previously decided that we would fish a half day of catch and release and that is what we did. Though we did not catch the huge speckled trout we had caught on previous trips, the variety was great.  We are looking forward to another trip.

After what had turned into somewhat of a disaster of a vacation, (our only vacation during the year we can actually get some distance from home),... AND our stay at the condo was shortened due to the virus outbreak…I was so upset when we got to the docks.  Lee may not realize it, but he made our vacation. Believe me, the conditions weren’t exactly in his favor either….it was windy as hell and sometimes afternoon fishing isn’t the best time either.  BUT with a lot of experience and a little bit of luck, Lee got us on some fish fairly quickly and later, one ticked off stingray. It stayed that way all afternoon!!  We laughed and told stories back and forth and caught our limit in fish!!  We certainly will never forget the afternoon or how a guy we’d never met made our trip a WHOLE lot better!!!  If we come back to Gulf Shores again next spring, we will be giving Lee a call!!
