The bottom fishing is great. There are plenty of red grouper in 40 feet of water. Start with dead bait first. Then when you see a couple of good fish switch to live bait if available.. Cut squid will load the boat with white grunts, lane and Mangrove Snapper. If you see pods of bait drop down and see if there are any red snappers.

The inshore bite is very good.Especially at high tide. This is busy fishing. We're using 8 oz jigheads with soft plastics by bass assassin colors. Being golden glow, avocado red glitter. Working shorelines and creek mouths. You want to look for 2 types of bait at the same time. Whether glass meadows and pinned fish or pinned fish and mullet, or any combination. Light line and long cast are a must.

With the cold water came some challenges. Shrimp were hard to come by today. I pulled out mai deck of cards and we played some soft plastics with jigheads and got a little bit of trout in under two hours. While catching trout, we caught a couple of ladyfish. With the time we had left, we turned those into a few red fish. I'm a big fan of using jigheads. The added weight to the end of the line makes it easy to cast baits. While the temperatures are cold, remember, the fishing can be hot.

With the cold front settling in on us, my hopes were not very high. We fished with jigheads and soft plastics and caught several nice trout. We then switched over to you a circle hook style jighead, and it caught black drum. Sheep's head and redfish.

The trout bite is very hot. The weather is cool The rig is an 1/8 ounce jighead color matched to the soft plastic of you choice. Today the choice was lil John in kitchen sink. **hidden content** chicken on a chain And we also did well with doa gold rush Pink and red jigheads . Those same jigheads with shrimp caught every thing in the water. The best way to learn is to book a trip. Thanks Captain Robert

The red grouper and red snapper bite has been very good. They're hitting various beats on the bottom two, just off the bottom. 4/0 to 7/0 hooks with 40 to 80 pound leader Baits can vary from frozen sardines to fresh cut mullet and Bonita. Live sardines and cigar minnows work the best if you can find them. I have several weekend days available through the end of the year. We can even do a six hour offshore trip on pretty days
