Trip Summary

The bite this week has been slow. But the quality of the fish have been good. The water temperatures have cooled and the water's murky. From the hurricane, but the deadbeats have worked the best that oiler and smellier. The better. We've been fishing typical bottom rigs, whether a fish finder, or a knocker, with the least amount of lead to make it to the bottom.

The bottom fishing is great. There are plenty of red grouper in 40 feet of water. Start with dead bait first. Then when you see a couple of good fish switch to live bait if available.. Cut squid will load the boat with white grunts, lane and Mangrove Snapper. If you see pods of bait drop down and see if there are any red snappers.
