I would not recommend this fishing trip to other anglers unless they can book directly with the captain who took us out. The trip was booked with Captain Christopher, on November 8th, who was very communicative and responsive leading up to our trip on November 24th. We communicated frequently via WhatsApp to confirm the number of people coming; he offered earlier dates and assured us that we would have a great time out at sea with him.

However, on the day of the trip, when we met Captain Christopher at the agreed location, he then informed us that he could not take us out and handed us off to another captain after collecting the balance of 720 USD. This was misleading and unfortunate as he led us to believe we would be going out with him, even when we communicated on WhatsApp the day before and the morning of the 24th. After he collected the balance, we never heard from him again. Not even a follow-up to see how the trip went. Although it is funny thinking about it, it felt deceptive, and we will not book with him again. As fellow Jamaicans, it felt more like a money grab by Captain Christopher to us. To be clear, the trip’s price was not a problem, and we also tipped the crew that took us out.

The caption that was handed off to us was great. I have nothing against him and his crew.

I can’t recommend this fishing excursion. We were taken to the sea, even though the sea was too rough/the boat was too little for that kind of weather. Ended up leaving the sea after one hour. No refund, so we payd 900 USD for one hour of fishing (no fish). Managed to negotiate something else but still we had the feeling of being ripped off.
The boat is pretty messy and the toilet is unusable. Not fun for the other family members.
