Signed up for $2600 12 hour tuna trip of a lifetime and got a 12 hour tour of the pacific ocean and sunburnt.

Trip was booked for 9am on Sunday. At 8:45am there was no captain, deck hands or boat, so we texted to find out where they were. “Gonna be an hour late, traffic is terrible”. Dude, don’t tell lies. Google Maps tells us there are no traffic delays anywhere. “It’s raining”. Again, let us explain how the internet works, we have the Weather Channel app. No rain anywhere.

10:15am - the captain and the deck hand both turn up at the same time. First, that’s 90 minutes late. Second, they arrived suspiciously at the same time, as if the time they had agreed to leave was actually 10:30am.

Big questions to the captain
#1 - Why do you think your time so much more important than mine?
#2 - Why tell lies about why you were late?
#3 - Why post photos of successful boat trips THAT ARE NOT OF YOUR BOAT? Take a look at the photos in the reviews. The ones with the wooden floor? Not the Kraken. The ones with the wooden gunwales? Noth the Kraken either. Why tell more lies?
#4 - Check the reviews. Captain Andy? Who is Captain Andy? I wish we had Andy. We may have left on time. If you see you are not booked with Captain Andy, then buy some lunch. You will be waiting.
#5 - Check the reviews “The charter operator canceled on trip date.” Several of them. Not surprised. Hope it doesn’t happen to you. Captain, again, why is your time more important?
#6 - Fishing rigs “You guys will never catch fish if you use swivels. Not in California”. So there was more time wasted while he insisted the braid and mono were joined directly together, all to avoid swivels. Never heard of such a thing, have you? (By the way, next day we took a different charter and caught plenty, and we USED SWIVELS, lol)

Hire your own boat. You can start on time that way. And use swivels if you want to :-)
