I booked the trip with my Dad and husband, it’s the one thing we look forward to every year is fishing when we go to the beach. This year was beyond our expectations, we got to see beautiful sights, the fish wasn’t biting real good but the captain sure did try his best to get us on them. We had a blast! The captain knew the waters like the back of his hands, always helpful in helping us and showing us tricks! We had the best time and would recommend anyone to go with him. We will be back!!

My son and I went fishing for his 12th birthday. We had an awesome time and caught several beautiful red fish. Captain Chris was knowledgeable and had plenty of equipment and bait to keep us fishing the entire trip. He was great with my son as well teaching him to correctly use the tackle to catch fish. What a memorable experience!

This was our first fishing charter because we have multiple boats of our own and my husband fishes all the time. However, he’s never done salt water fishing and really wanted someone to show him how to flounder fish. Despite the fish not biting much during our trip, Captain Chris was extremely knowledgeable of the area, all the fish and everything in between. Not one of our questions went unanswered because Chris is knowledgeable in every aspect of fishing. It was quite impressive honestly. Even if the fish aren’t biting you will have a blast learning new fishing techniques and just relaxing on the water.  You can tell that Chris really enjoys what he does and genuinely wants everyone to have a great time out on the water. I really can not recommend this charter enough and we can’t wait to go back again.

My only advice to anyone who books this charter is to pack sunscreen lotion, not spray because the spray will turn his boat yellow and it’s just to beautiful for that to happen. Also, if you pack sammiches, Captain Chris loves PB&J. ❤️

You will never regret spending a day with Captain Chris!  He is the Real Thing.  Professional firefighter, expert fishing guide, hunter and alligator chaser!  What a great guy.  I gave my 14 year-old grandson a full day with Chris as a Christmas gift.  He’s been fishing rivers, lakes, ponds and dams all his life, but never had a chance to fish NC coast except off a pier.  We scheduled spring break and, as the day approached, the weather that day looked increasingly bad.  Chris worked overtime trying to make everything work.  I cannot overstate how helpful he was working with us.  We drove 5 hours to get there the night before, and he picked Jack up really early at 6:40AM to try to beat the incoming storm.  The boat is beautiful by the way, and the 2 of them managed to get in about 5+ hours of awesome fishing before the skies turned dangerous and they raced for home, sopping wet but happy!  Chris knows those waters like the back of his hand and can park you on top of a Fish Hotel!  They caught loads of Drum, and even flounder and a baby ray!  My grandson told me it was the best gift ever.  If you want to have a really fun, successful day fishing—-even if you’ve never done it before—-book Tails Up.  Chris has the heart of a teacher and loves to make every trip a fun and rewarding one.
