- Background
- I began guiding for an outfitter in 2007 while living in western Wyoming. After getting a taste for the outdoor lifestyle I decided to up to Alaska and guide for a fly-in lodge in Bristol Bay for the summer of 2008. That summer sparked a decade-long career guiding the rivers of western Alaska. Shortly after returning from Alaska in 2008, I began spending as much time chasing Redfish as I possibly could. Now it is 11 years later and I must say, being an active steward and enjoying the outdoor lifestyle can't be beat.
- Techniques
- Sight fishing for redfish with a fly rod is where it's at. There is certain type of thrill spotting a tailing redfish, making a great a cast, and seeing that fish charge to eat the fly! The drag screaming fight is icing on the cake.
