We had a great experience with Captain Mendez.  He was extremely prompt and helpful with all of his communication.  The day got off to a slow start with high temps and winds, but Captain Mendez kept changing strategies while pointing out of marine animals - whales, sea turtles, etc. to keep me and my two teenage daughters engaged.  His keen eye spotted a sailfish and the hunt was on.  We successfully got the fish on the line.  An epic battle ended with some amazing photographs, videos and memories after we landed the glorious fish.  Watched a world class sunset on the way back to shore.  Bucket list day, so grateful to Captain Mendez for making it a special day with my daughters!

This was our first trip to Costa Rica.The captain and mate were very helpful and experienced. Though the water was a bit rough for our trip, they put us on the fish. My wife and I each landed a beautiful Mahi Mahi. The crew helped with filleting the fish and bagging it up for us. Snacks and drinks were provided and they picked us up and dropped us off at the beach of our resort. Overall, a successful and enjoyable fishing experience.
Note that if you are wanting to bring fresh fish home, you will need to arrange for that ahead of your trip. We were informed too late that our fish would need to be taken to nearby Playa Coco for a 24 hour stay and then picked up the next day. Fortunately, the restaurant staff at our resort was very accommodating and prepared some of the fish for us to enjoy.

Had a great trip. Fishing was slow but the captain knew where to go and put us on some fish. The kids had a great time reeling in snapper and sea bass. My daughter caught a shark which she was pretty excited about! The fish we kept were great for dinner. He also made us ceviche for the ride back and it was delicious. At one point we saw some turtles and my son was able to jump into the water with them making it extra special. Thumbs up to Captin Mahendra, would definitely go again.

Captain Mendez was amazing! It was a slow fishing day, and we only got 3 bites and only caught 1 mahi mahi. However, captain mendez and his crew really did their best to give us the best chance possible, including setting out 7 lines and staying an extra hour at sea to try to get us a 2nd fish. He made us ceviche with the mahi mahi and set up a spot for us to get our mahi mahi cooked when we got to shore. It was my first time deep sea fishing and captain Mendez and his crew made it a great experience! Would highly recommend him to anyone else and am looking to book another charter with him again!

We had a great time today! We were able to catch a Mahi Mahi and had the best time. We went into it knowing its “fishing” and not always catching but were plesantly surprised! On the way out we saw stingrays, dolphins, other fish, and turtles! After we caught the Mahi Mahi Michael sliced up it up snd then made a beautiful platter of food. it was delicious and we had an amazing time. Thanks again for a memorable experience.
