I am a bit surprised by this review, however I think reviews are an important tool for our customers and I value the opinion of those that book with us. This charter had red flags all over it, but I accepted it against my better judgement after being awakened by the request at 10:00 pm. There is a great deal of preparation that goes into a charter and this booking did not allow for it at all. Apparently getting out of bed and working until 11:30 to be ready in the morning didn’t allow for any appreciation of effort by the customer. Upon customers late arrival I advised the him there were storms in the area that may effect our trip. He confirmed he understood, and stated “it’s better than sitting in a motel room”. Our first stop produced 12 Redfish, 4 Trout, and a nice Flounder for a inshore slam within the first hour. Around the half way point the storms were pushing in on us and it was raining. I do my very best to dodge rain when in the area. As Captain it is my responsibility to keep my clients safe and don’t mind fishing in the rain if they don’t . After the lightning became more frequent I made the decision to stop fishing and escape the quickly approaching storm cutting the trip short by one hour. The customer was asked what he wanted to do as the rain increased and he said head to the dock. I am very disappointed that(very big surprise to me ) this charter, my efforts, and the result rendered the customer NOT recommending Flat Out Guide Service. I personally enjoyed your company and conversations, given the circumstances I don’t feel there is anything I didn’t do, or offer to do to accommodate you. Feel free to book elsewhere next time. Reviews are wrote to effect business positively or negatively. In this case the customer does not recommend us and we don’t recommend him. To those who read this review I recommend the following:
Book your trip in a timely manner
Submit request at a decent hour (sober)
If intoxicated upon arriving late please add mouth wash to personal protection list.
Be aware of weather conditions that may effect your charter.

It is very disappointing to receive what I consider here a bad review. I certainly hope my potential customers reads this reply. There is only so much I can do to make a trip successful with a variety of challenges. This half day trip was full of that. First the language barrier made it impossible to communicate what needed to happen with only one out of four able to speak broken English. Lack of experience among all fishermen was very obvious without going into detail I can’t teach or “guide” you if you don’t speak English. Along with that this trip was booked on a flood tide which made the bite slower than normal. I am as disappointed as my customer here. We were on fish and they were there to catch with the ability to do so. I provided friendly customer service, quality equipment, and a variety of bait. We don’t pick and choose what days we fish with ideal conditions ect., instead we accept all bookings and do our very best to get a favorable result. It is very disappointing that the effort was not appreciated in this case. It’s fishing folks! I realize all the reviews are not going to be five stars.
