We had a group of 4 adults that went fishing with Doug Chason.  He had everything ready to go when we got there and within just a few minutes we were fishing.  Doug filled us in on what was happening in the area re oysters, dredging activity, and many other interesting details.  Our first fish was a 31.5” red.  We caught a couple more but overall the fishing just wasn’t that great the day we went.  Doug kept trying different sites, some different bait, but nothing was biting.  This was our second trip with Doug and next time we are in the area we would hire him again.  The boat was clean and in good working order.  Plenty of power to get us where we wanted to go.  If you are looking for a fishing trip that doesn’t require a skill, Doug tells you what to do and how to do it, then charter with Captain Doug Chason.

Booked a late evening two hour with Captian Doug and found him to be very personable and took to our youngest who had a great time and caught several fish in our short time on the water. Captain Doug is very knowledgeable of the history of his area which is great to see. We were able to go exploring and found some cool things and also go back in time to see and imagine what it may have been like generations ago which I enjoyed and last but not least for a reasonable price we were able to make and experience as a family and even get dinner of fresh sea trout for the family. Capt Doug took the time to keep pivoting to the next opportunity to catch fish. Winds are always a problem in Early April. Know your time of year and make your expectations match that. Two over slot reds and trout for dinner was well fought for!

First charter for our family and it couldn’t have been a more memorable experience. Captain Doug went above and beyond making sure our family caught some keepers! He was attentive and helpful when we had questions or needed assistance. We will book a charter with him every time we are in Carrabelle and hands down will be referring him to our family and friends.
