Wasted alot of money just to troll for 6hrs. The captain seemed to not want to do the trip. Lots of people caught fish except us.

First let me say that I now have 3 boys who will probably never try this again, let alone fish. I was told if the water was to rough, then the trip would of been canceled. We were the only ones out there and the mate told us there were no other boats because they were canceled. Ours should of been as well. Also, 5 hour charter and trolled for 3 hours and the other two hours were travel hours. Three kids touched a pole once each and reeled in one small fish each. Didn’t really catch it. It was more of the first mate ( who did all the work and worked hard to set the trolling lines up). The fish were not biting, but no changes were made… nothing! No change of bait, just trolled with spoons. They said that the fish have not been biting for weeks…then why take us there? They are the “professionals “.... They could of suggested the sound side perhaps. And there was no fish finding equipment on board! For a fishing charter charging that kind of money, there should of been something on board.  Also, chartered the boat for 6 people and only five poles were set up. The back of the boat was the only part of this 40 something foot boat we were allowed to use and the Diesel fuel smell was sickening the whole time.
There was only one bed to lay on if you were sick, which 2 people were ( even with dramamine in their systems) ! It was so rough out there that you had to hold on to something the whole time.
Charter was listed as family friendly… well with 3 boys and a women on board you would think they would of held the language down a bit, but gave the term “swearing like a sailor “ a new meaning. Not that I haven’t heard language like that, but how would they know that and it was uncomfortable.
The captain and first mate were nice, but I don’t feel that they did what was promised. I paid for nice and a great fishing experience. I know enough about fishing to know that sometimes you just don’t catch fish! But, I also know that you try to change location and or try different lures or bait. You don’t just do the same thing for 3 hours.  This trip should of been canceled or at least tried to be rescheduled. Money should of been refunded. At the very least, change something up in the three hours to at least try to catch fish!
A very very expensive, disappointing trip!!!!
Wish I could turn back time and save my money and even more, get the 5 hours wasted vacation time back.

I think the trip would not have been as tough as it was, if Louis was a better communicator.  Maybe we shouldn’t have gone offshore.  Maybe he could have changed the gas filter earlier, maybe he could have found the little gas pump, maybe,  maybe, maybe…
We had an engine failure - had to get the Coast Guard to help us back to the dock.  However, the pizza was good that night.
