Even though it was more difficult due to the large amounts of recent rain we had a blast. This was a bucket list trip for my dad who is going blind. We saw sea turtles, flying fish, temporarily wrestled with a hammer head shark, saw a sail fish cleaning its gills of parasites by jumping out of the water (taunting us a bit), hooked barracuda and Mahi Mahi. We did bring in the king mackerel which is quite delicious when prepped with sake and salt to draw out the oils, then broiled. Sooo good! We had a great time out on the water, learning a lot about fishing. The captain and crew were super helpful and shared lots of knowledge.  The rain got us at the end of the day and cut our trip a little short due to being safe with lightning.  I would highly recommend True Grit to anyone looking to go out on a worthwhile trip with a trustworthy crew. Definitely gonna do this again, as I will continue to chase the sail fish and maybe a sword fish. Tons of fun!

I take my sons fishing every year on vacation, so we’ve experienced a lot of captains and boats. You won’t find a better crew in South Florida than
True Grit. Their center console looked brand new it was huge, I want that boat. I really appreciated that they already had live bait in the live well before we got there, a lot of boats do not do this. After 45 minutes we were in open ocean, they had a kite in the air with three live bait lines attached to it. Three rods on the other side of the boat rigged up with live bait and a downrigger line with cut bait for a shark. Blackfin tuna was on our dinner menu. My boys had a great time, I can’t recommend True Grit enough. Thanks a lot!

I searched FishingBooker and selected Captain Ryland because he had the highest rating.  He didn’t disappoint.  He and his crew worked their tails off to put us on fish.  To give you an idea there were three of us fishing, and at one point he had 3 lines for kite fishing, and 5 more rods fishing the bottom (plus we trolled for several hours).  We landed trophy Sail Fish, mid size Sail Fish, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Tuna, King Mackerel, Amber Jack, and Bonita, over 30 fish total.  We took home a ton of great fish.  Trust me and book Captain Ry he won’t disappoint!

Awesome trip!  Awesome crew. Hooked two sailfish. One made it to the boat-one didn’t. Plus, caught a few eaters for the BBQ. Will be booking again next time in Ft. Lauderdale area!!

Easily my favorite charter.  Great boat, great Capt who knows whereto find those fish.  We caught Tuna, Mahi, Barricuda, Boneta, and a bunch of other types.  Special shout out to Ben who wizzed around that boat helping my crew of six all catch fish.  Special thanks to helping me catch that giant tuna, very memorable.  Thanks guys!
