We had a wonderful time with Captain Nick and Glen on our fishing trip in Dana Point. We booked a short trip not knowing how long our two seven year olds and four year old would want to fish, but we plan to book a longer trip with Captain Nick again next year! We had an absolute blast. We caught some white fish, halibut, and even an octopus! The boat was clean, there were snacks and drinks for my kids, and the crew was super friendly. My colleague and I totally enjoyed the short trip.  We flew into John Wayne in the morning prior to a conference and only had limited time available.  This was the perfect outing for the time we had.  I only wish I had more time so we could have gone after bigger fish.  However, Captain Nick put us on fish and we caught them.  Only problem was the Seal Lions.  But, that is the nature of Ocean fishing in California. Captain Nick and his deckhand Glenn were both great to go out on the water with.  They educated us, taught us techniques, baited hooks for us, and were good with our kids too.  Captain nick’s boat is very nice and is large enough to not feel so squashed on a boat with your family.  It also helps to be a little less sea sick than on a small boat.  Enjoy a trip with captain nick. He is a gentleman and loves to see you enjoy your time on the water.
