When a guest gets on your boat and wants you to run to another Captain’s Spots that they had stole from a trip last year with a phone app, you can bet this Captain didn’t take you to any of his spots knowing you would just steal/record them with your phone app. Most of my fellow Captains would have just drove you to the dock, I assure you the Everglades 290 had 220 gallons of fuel onboard, just not gas to run to another Captains stolen fishing spots. In hindsight I should have know I would wake up to my first ever negative review like this since you came “guns blazing” at me while having dinner the night before not wanting to tip a Captain for spending 2 hours cleaning fish after the trip. Your texts saying"I’ll make note of this” was the flag. I offered you to cancel and you refused. So here come the guns.

When people stay up partying and drinking all night this is usually what I see happen.

Where is all this anger coming from? Is it because of something greater than being sick all day and vomiting all over the boat and not fishing.
Thinking you may have sold off spots on the charter since half the guests didn’t know each other and arrived late anin different vehicles. You seem to be very upset that we price our charters without fish cleaning and i’m sure you had to explain that to the spots you probably sold.

Why do we price our trips without fish cleaning?

After Covid we started taking alot of local trips since no one could travel to florida. Locals were home and wanted to fish. Many asked if I would discount the trip if they cleaned their own fish. So we changed all our listings on Fishingbooker and our website to lower the price and give clients a choice. Nothing shady, just making fishing more affordable.
Did you not read the ad on Fishingbooker?
Did I not send you pre-trip info 7 days prior to trip with full disclosure?
Did I offer to allow you to cancel the trip if tipping a captain for cleaning your catch was a problem and you didn’t want to cancel?
Probably a problem if you brokered off spots on my boat for you.
We save about 25% of the locals trip money this way and they appreciate it.
It’s a choice other Captains don’t offer.
They rebook several trips a year because they limit out on fish and save money.

As a USCG certified Captain checking weather prior to and during the trip is a mandatory obligation. You saw me stop the boat 7 miles out and check my apps while onboard. The forecasted winds were well within comfort. The weather forecast yesterday was for seas less than 2’ and winds 10kts offshore. Once we arrived 35 miles out the wind started to pick up. You were vomiting all over the boat prior to us arriving at our destination. We were running 28-30 mph going out. Not that rough.. The wind did pick up after we got there but it wasn’t in the forecast or expected. FYI, a Charter Captain can’t change the weather, he can only use his day to day experience and data from apps/forecast. Contact NOAA, they put out the forecast and miss it quite frequently. The previous day it was slick 40 miles out.

Once we arrived 35 miles our everyone had a fish on first drop and every drop after. Your Charter caught Red Grouper, Vermillion Snapper, Lane Snapper, Trigger Fish, Grunts, Porgys,. ect, however you wouldn’t know since you were lying down the whole trip vomiting. There was never more than a 6 second wait for a bite. Live bait is listed on my fishingbooker listing and depending on what species trip you purchased. You never discussed only wanting to use live bait. The bait you were dropping was gone in less than 6 seconds. You were lying down all day vomiting so probably was unaware.
The “Reel Bliss” is a USCG certified vessel with all safety equipment.  The vessel was just checked as it came through the pass the day before (SATURDAY) as the USCG, Clearwater Marine, Pinellas Sheriffs, FWC, were conducting boat checks on all boats coming in from the Gulf for undersize Red Snapper and boat checks. The officers checking the Reel Bliss said we were one of the only boats that had all documentation, safety equipment and a boat full of legal Red, Gags and ARS.
Not sure about your unfounded accusations that the gear is ok. I don’t think you even knew since you were lying down and not fishing. We carry Penn Squall 40’s and Shimano 20’s and 25’s all on Star Paraflex 7’ rods. There was a total of 14 conventional rods rigged and ready for your group of 6.  We also had an additional 9 Penn Slammer reels and Star rods for anyone wanting to use conventional. We also have Penn Internationals we bring on some trips. You might study up on tackle before inserting your foot in mouth.
Your trip was 25 minutes late to leave as waited for people. I was on time. I always watch my time and commitments. When we picked your party up like all trips the boat is spotless and the port-a-potty is clean. The smell wasn’t from the port a potty, it was from your vomit all over the boat. Even your friends ran to the other side off the boat gagging from the smell of the vomit you left all over the boat and cushions. It took some time while last night to bleach the smell out and stains off the boat.
