This is why I strongly encourage young kids to join in on fishing trips to start learning and loving the sport. My father and I would go offshore fishing almost every weekendNot only did I learn from my father, but also from various captains, who have taught me almost everything I know. This varies in type of fishing from live bait fishing on nearshore wrecks to high speed trolling for Wahoo.

We went fishing Saturday before Easter with mom dad and the 3 boys who wanted action. Its the very start of the season but its heating up every day. We had a slow start due to green water pushing offshore but we went deeper to fimd the blue water amd the fish. In 600ft and 60 miles from home we found them on a little current edge. We were hooking them 3 to 5 at a time and ended the day with 13. We definitely left them biting as the boys had to be back to a ball game at 3:30. Its the time of year everyone waits for days are filling up and the fish are biting. The larger fish are always close behind so we’re expecting them in the next week or two the weather is beautiful lets go fishing.

Winter time fishing

As the temperature begins to cool here in key west the fishing is heating up. Sailfish, tuna, wahoo, and king fish are biting on the troll consistently. If your lucky enough to find some debris there’s still mahi-mahi to be caught with some nice gaffer mahi mixed in. The reef bite has been good this week after the blow. The mixed up cloudy ocean is good for catching snappers on the reef with these north east winds and west tide getting dinner is almost as easy as ordering in. We look forward to fishing with you. Fleets first Blue Marlin of the season

Blue water trolling season is heating up off of St. Augustine. With more and more Mahi-mahi being caught everyday and a red hot tuna bite there’s plenty of fun to be had. Now if your looking for sailfish March and April are hot months. Some elusive Blue Marlin are starting to make an appearance. On Saturday it was our customers first time trolling and he caught his first sailfish and his first blue marlin all in one day. I bet his expectations are set pretty high now. So if you want to target meat fish or if you want to target billfish just let us know when you book so we can cater towards what you want to catch on Your trip. Tight lines - Capt Dalton

It was slick calm and warm weather for the first time in a while. We went bottom fishing on a 8hour trip with some veterans on they’re last day in St. Augustine. After catching enough triggers and beliners for dinner that night they decided they’d like something that pulled really hard so we picked up the lines and ran 5 miles to another spot where we have been catching amberjack on a previous trip. We kept our limit of 3 eating size but released another 30 with a couple of studs mixed in. All in all was a great day fishing with great people. I’ll see you on the water. - Capt. Dalton

Best day wahoo fishing

Me and ricky aboard rock bottom charters went out looking to catch wahoo with just the two of us on the boat. We put the lines in about 40 miles from land and instantly the rod starts screaming. Wahoo we land a nice fish 55lbs. We set the spread and about an hour later we have one that smokes the reel we had to pour water on it because it was to hot to touch. We landed a 101 lb wahoo my biggest ever and we entered the triple digit club. We set the lines and got a fast hook up. After an hour long fight we landed a 94 lb wahoo we couldnt believe that we could land fish like that with only 2 of us . But its a day we will never forget.

Capt Dalton and his matr were good. We fished only in one spot for about 3 hrs or better without getting 1 single bite or anything!!! Teenagers and kids were very disappointed!!! Wished we would have moved to other spots to try and catch in different areas!! Didn’t bring anything home to eat! To us it was a waste of $700.00 and very disappointed!!!
