We did a boys trip, booking the Miller time for back to back half days.  Captain Troy and his Mate James were great guys, very friendly and accommodating, and clearly knew their stuff.  On the first half day, we got a sailfish, a large red mutton snapper (that got bitten in half by a shark!) and a whole bunch of yellow snapper, which Troy filleted for us and we took to Lazy Days restaurant, where they cooked it four different ways for us…best fish I ever had, would highly recommend going there as well, right on the beach a few miles from Miller Time’s dock.  Day two we had some weather rolling in (we were supposed to go out in the afternoon, but Troy had the morning open so we both agreed it would be best to get out before the weather kicked in….turned out to be a really good call!).  We drift fished some wrecks, pulling in two giant barracuda and a good sized scup, and we lost several fish to the sharks on their way in.  So overall the fishing wasn’t lights out, but it was good, and more importantly the Captain and Mate did everything they could to put us on fish, and the type of fish we wanted, so I would be glad to recommend Captain Troy and Miller Time Sportfishing to anyone heading down to Islamorada!

Fishing with Captain Troy and Mark was the highlight of our trip to the keys. It was our first time deep sea fishing. We were TAUGHT to fish with a jig, trolling, and live bait. Both were very knowledgeable and put us on great fishing. It’s exciting when the crew high fives each other over the fish you just reeled in. The boat is clean, comfortable and we were well taken care of. Captain Troy and Mark are our favorite people in the Keys, they are a riot, we laughed to the point of tears. We went out with Troy and his first mate, James and had a great time! The fish weren’t biting quite as much as we would have liked, but they pulled out all the stops and tried to figure out ways to get us tarpon, tuna, and other stuff. We ended up with a ton of snapper, which is what we love and had a great lunch afterwards. Thank you and we highly recommend them!

The captain, Troy, and his mate, James were very involved and helped us catch as many fish as we could. We ended up with 34 yellowtail snappers and they are delicious. This was the second time we fished with Captain Troy and both times the trips were amazing! He is very adept at knowing where to find the fish. We had a blast except for the seasickness I ended up with.
