Captain J was awesome! Met us and he arrived early, prepared for a full day; two beanbag chairs were on the boat which were very comfortable for our long trip out. He was very accommodative, catering to what we wanted for the day.

Toward the end of our trip we stopped by a wreck to do some bottom fishing and as I was reeling up a fish there was a major hit, taking a lot of line and Captain J was patient and helpful to reel in a 200+ pound shark to the side of the boat (The shark ate the fish that was on the line)!

No rain but high wind kept us from trolling the main area we intended to fish, so instead of a full day with no fish caught J. Kent recommended we call it and pay him for just a half day which we very much appreciated. Big boat, great gear, knowledgeable and friendly, would go with him again. Per his recommendation, plan a charter trip for 1 day out of like 3 possible days, so that you can pick which day has the best conditions.

It was our first time fishing offshore. Captain J was very knowledgeable and we had plenty of fun catching a bunch of fish. Was an overall great experience, would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to try offshore fishing

J was amazing.
He took my family out and we caught many fish.
He was attentive and kept moving and watching the fish finder looking for fish. Bated the hooks, changed lures and did everything so we felt like kings.
We had a great day and will be searching Cap J out next time we are in town.

Captain Kent did a great job getting us on fish and employing multiple tactics to maximize our fish catching opportunities and entertainment. We started by slow trolling a few wrecks 20 miles offshore, when that was found to be slow, we anchored on one of the wrecks and bottom fished until we got a school of cobia fired up. This got the attention of some barracuda. We spent quite some time sight fishing the cobia and barracuda while putting a few of them on ice. When things slowed down, we moved back closer to shore to fish a ledge. This brought the chance to bring in a few dog fish and sea bass. We were never left wanting for anything with Captain Kent: our lines were always baited, we were mixing up tactics and presentations to increase our chances, and our questions were always answered with a smile. Of note, my five year old son was taken under Captain Kent’s wing as an unofficial first made, and their rapport and banter the whole trip was quite fun and entertaining. It was a fantastic trip for all five adults and one little fisherman! I would highly recommend to families or other groups.
