Captain and Mate are great.  PERIOD!  Awesome service and just really good people. Picked us up at a local pier and we were fishing in 10 minutes.  Boat was very clean and the 130 and 80 shimano reels were full of fresh line.  Had a wide assortment of trolling lures but we only needed to use 3.  These guys know their stuff because they have been fishing here their whole life.  On the way out said look for birds 2 or 3 black birds it’s a Marlin.  White birds mean mahi.  Flock of birds tuna. Well in 20 minutes we were actively chasing a white bird.  What did we see cruising the surface big bull mahi mahi.  It didn’t bite because super calm but we had a shot and they worked real hard to get it to bite.  Fast forward 20 minutes.  We spotted 3 black birds and started to work that area.  We were swapping fish stories and one of the 130s goes down.  Then it went slack.  Started jigging the line and boom it went tight again.  Then it went slack again.  They hand jigged the line for the next 5 minutes while I was watching this dark shadow stalk our lure.  Then we got tight again and this time the line screamed off the reel for about 2 straight minutes.  Reel was stripped of 75% of its capacity.  Then the hard work started.  I fought the fish for about an hour and when we got it close to the boat the harpoon and gaff were in it.  We got it on board and the celebration began.  New personal record 250lb Marlin.  I am not used to harvesting Marlin but they sell the fish to the market for the locals and the head is donated to the school for kids with disabilities to be turned into soup and meat.  When I stated earlier these guys are just good people I meant it.  We trolled for another hour before my wife asked to head in.  The day didn’t end.  How about pulling up to a beautiful sand bar and then they prepared an amazing meal with local ingredients and tasty fish.  Food was better than a few of the restaurants we tried. Sting rays and black tip sharks circled the boat and we would have swam with them but we just did that same thing yesterday.  If you are doing the swimming with the sting rays excursion save your money and just go with these guys.  You can fish, have a great meal and swim with wildlife for the price of one.  As for price…. very fair.  I have booked charters across the world and these guys are below average cost and literally the best service.  If you are in Tahiti take the ferry over to Moorea and use these guys.  Thank you for an amazing experience!!!

We had a great time trolling the ocean with Captain Mathi and Ben. Unfortunately, we didn’t land any fish (got a nice bite, but we lost it!). The day was still great, as we got to explore some really awesome parts of the island that would have otherwise been inaccessible for us tourists. Ben also prepared a phenomenal lunch for us, the best meal we had while in Tahiti! We got up close with some stingrays and black tip sharks on a gorgeous sand bar that we had all to ourselves. We also got to learn about the local culture, and got some great tips on other local treasure places to explore on the island. Thanks for a great day, guys!

We had a great time fishing with Matahi - unfortunately, we didn’t catch any fish, but it was nice to be out on the water. We saw a lot of Moorea from a different perspective and learned a lot about the island from Matahi.

We had the best time! Captain Mathi and first mate Ernesto were just lovely humans to begin with nevermind being wonderful fishermen, conversationalists and hosts. We enjoyed catching two skipjack tuna and spending the day on the boat. They took us to a reef where we got to swim after fishing. We pet rays and saw lots of reef fish and sharks. A great way to spend a day!

Beautiful calm morning with a stunning boat ride. Waves were really awe inspiring. The weather and views were better than our luck this day, but the effort Ben and Matahi gave was really impressive. We searched all over looking for the big one, but ended up empty handed. I would go with these two again in a heartbeat though! Very nice, good conversation, extremely knowledgeable fishers and boaters, and even helped with some Moorea logistics/advice for our other adventures on the island. 5 stars for sure
