Today was a particularly windy day which led to larger than usual swell and lots of white caps. We trolled with 6 live bait behind the boat and ended up catching one mahi mahi. Despite the rough conditions, Captain Gabriel was able to get us back to the marina safely. Some boats had to turn back and never made it out today due to the conditions. This is why they call it fishing and not catching. Either way we ended up with plenty of food with the one mahi mahi we caught.

We got some amazing catches! Gabriel and Jose made it possible for us to catch TWO Roosterfish AND a Needlefish. We also caught a Trigger Fish, and a Snapper (we had the Snapper prepared by a local restaurant which was super tasty)! We ALMOST caught a White Fin Shark but it got away, and same with the Barracuda! Gabriel provided us with snacks and drinks throughout the excursion I would highly recommend Gabriel and his crew for your fishing excursion in Jaco! P.S. Opt for the live bait!

I had an absolutely thrilling experience booking our charter with Captain Gabriel and First Mate Jose! El Capitán Gabriel y su hermano José son excelentes en lo que hacen. Éramos un grupo de 4 personas todos pudimos pescar y aprender con diferentes equipos y carnadas. Nadie se quedó sin pescar. Nos entregaron el pescado fileteado para llevarlo con nosotros.Cuidaron en todo momento de nuestra seguridad y cuando hubo mal clima el Capitán supo maniobrar de la mejor manera para mantenernos a salvo. These guys were legit, snapper, rooster, and other fish!! It was awesome we were the talk of the town. Seriously went into liquor store and there was a fisherman there and said hey y’all were they guys who had the day we haven’t caught all week.
