Captain Hawkins worked with some difficult tides to deliver a good trip.  After catch a few trout in first spot tides changes and it was slow for a couple hours.  Trying many different spots.  Captain Hawkins extended the trip in order to get a better tide and the last spot made the day with strong action, many throwbacks and put several Keepers in the box. Caught some trout, flounder, redfish.  Lots of teaching.  Nice day on the water.

My son and I had a half day run with Captain Hawkins and is was a great morning of fishing. He had us on fish within 30 minutes of leaving the boat ramp. We spent the morning landing a wide range of fish including redfish, flounder, sheepshead, bonnethead shark and a few others. Captain Hawkins provide great info on the fish we caught along with insight on how to read the waters we were fishing. He also provided great info on a couple of techniques that we used to catch some fantastic fish. I highly recommend Captain Hawkins if you are looking for a guide who can not only get you on the the fish you are looking for and also providing a wealth of fishing knowledge that will help you grow as an angler.

We had a half day trip scheduled on a day it was supposed to be raining and storming during our trip time. The captain offered to change our time to earlier in the day to adjust for this, so he is flexible about when he is able to go. He knew where the fish were and when good times for them to bite was. He also explained why they were hitting at times and gave us lots of good information that was interesting to learn, and that I can use in my own future fishing trips. He cast lines for us when we needed to, demonstrated how to catch different fish, and asked us what we were looking to catch. I can tell he has been doing this for a long while. We ended up catching about 8 fish total of varying types and sizes, on a day that was not the best for fishing to begin with. His personality was also uplifting, and he wanted to make sure we had a good time. I could not have asked for a better fishing charter. I will be chartering with him again whenever we manage to come back to Folly Island.

Captain Brian Hawkins was an overall excellent experience! He was very knowledgeable of the local area and communicative about the tides and weather to make the trip as enjoyable as possible! We will definitely be back to slay more reds, drums, and sheepshead!
