If you are looking for a safe family ocean fishing experience with your family, check the weather conditions closely prior. Also, make sure the charter has a boat and equipment that you feel safe with. Captain SI was a nice guy but this trip was not worth the money.

Tight boat for 4 person trip. Last minute booking so he wasn’t fully prepared did not get to touch a rod for the first 45 minutes, but he did put us on some fish.

He spent the first hour netting for bait. In my opinion that should have been taken care of before we arrived. We caught very few keepers. At the end he was trying to fish for a bigger fish. I would thought that we could have had our poles in the water also.  We actually fished for an hour to an hour and a half.  Not worth the nearly $800 price.

Very disappointed in this fishing trip w/ Captain Nelson. He was late to the dock for our pickup & then proceeded to spend 30-45 minutes catching his bait while we waited on the boat. I’ve never had a guide do that…they’ve always caught their live bait beforehand. Our booking was from 8am-12pm & we didn’t start fishing till after 8:45am. You would think our time would then start at 8:45am, but no. He ended the trip at 12pm since he had an afternoon booking after us. All of this could “maybe” have been forgiven if we caught a lot of fish, but nope. We ended up with one average-sized redfish & two small mangrove snappers. He didn’t have much of a personality & provided little to no instruction/guidance for the younger folks on the boat (15 & 16 year old). At the end, we arrived back at the dock & watched other guides around us display their large number of fish on the boards adding to our disappointment. I’ve gone on 8 to 10 guided fishing trips & this was by far the worst. I would not recommend.
