What a trip. We did the 3-hr as we were uncertain how it would go with a small kid. Captain Dave made us feel at ease from the start. My wife was a nervous Nancy bringing her 5YO baby on his first fishing trip, but it was smooth sailing from go. We saw about 10 dolphins as we started the trip, dropped the anchor down and very quickly wrestled with a 3ft Bonnethead, Dave was right there coaching our boy through his first catch. After snagging some pictures and catching our breath, we took off to a few additional stops. Dave was very educational with his explanations of the local geography and providing insights on local cuisine during downtime. Towards the tail end of the trip, they started to bite. Jack wrestled down his second shark on the trip, an Atlantic Sharpnose. Shortly after that, the fight was on again, this time with another bonnet head that had some spunk to it. While Jack was reeling him in, another line got a hit. We got the wife involved at the end and she reeled in a 4ft Blacktip. Everybody left exhausted yet ready for more. 10/10 would recommend the Carolina Rig and Captain Dave

Our fishing excursion experience was great! CPT David arrived ahead of schedule. His boat and equipment were very clean and in excellent condition. From the start it was apparent he takes care of his equipment, from the fishing hooks to the boat and outboard. We started by making a run to open water in the sound to net bait fish. One cast and we had all the bait we needed. Fished two spots. The first produced a 3’ bonnet head shark and then the bite went dry, expect for a 4’ gar that seemed to be snacking on our bait. We fished it for a little while then moved on. The second spot was a honey hole! Multiple bull sharks including one too large to bring in the boat. Multiple large red fish including a complete TANK!!! Tagged one for fish and wildlife conservation tracking. It was fun learning about that process. I think the best part of the experience with CPT David is that he encouraged us to do everything; cut the bait, prepare bait on the hooks, cast, reel, net the fish, etc. As experienced freshwater fisherman it made our excursion enjoyable knowing the Captain trusted us to care for his equipment and to fish safely. With that said, if you don’t have experience fishing, CPT David is a great coach and will guide you to success even with the most basic fishing principles. So, I would recommend him for all experience levels.

Went with my son who is in the Coast Guard in Alaska and so it was fun to hear Capt Dave, a CG veteran swap stories as we enjoyed a leisurely boat ride. We had several pulls but only able to reel in one fish for the short trip. But as the saying goes, “the worst day fishing is better than the best day working”! We enjoyed this immensely!

David did great job guiding for us.  We caught 4 bull shark pups right away (about 2.5 feet long each).  We tried two other spots that didn’t end up panning out for us, but that’s fishing.  We had a great time and would definately try it again.

Me my wife and one of our sons had a blast. My wife’s first trip off shore fishing and she caught a 5 foot black tip shark. I caught 2 4 to 5 foot small tooth sharks. My son has talked about catching a tarpon for years. Well he caught his first one at 105 pounds. Took him 45 minutes to get it to the boat. He is the champion of the family now. Capt. Dave is the best he knows his stuff.
