No, not what you are thinking. Captain David set us up during slack tide to bottom fish in Calibogue Sound for possible Cobia or shark which come together…I gave my wife first hookup and she pulled in a 10 lb Bonnet head shark which gave her all she could handle! We used out going tide to fish creek mouths for Reds but the fist location did not work well with the south wind, so after a little patience Captain David moved us to a north facing creek mouth in May River so the wind would work with us. The current was strong and we threw cut mullet, crab and shrimp. Something took the mullet down but came off…a little while later we found the same rod bending hard with the drag screaming… this time we were hooked up! It had to to be a Bull Red or Bull Shark! After a good 15-20 minute battle, a 30 lb Bull Shark was at the end of the line! It was a good fight and another bent rod with screaming drag! We both were happy and Captain David worked hard to make sure we caught fish! A good day on the water!

Went with family and had a great fishing experience!  Will definitely be using him again the next time im in town!

David is a great captain and highly experienced.  We all liked his personality and he was really great, especially with the kids. 

We were there on time and so was the boat.  Went super smooth even though i goofed up the reservation. 

Couldn’t ask for a better trip

My wife and I are from Houston Texas and just wanted a get away, we found David on fishing booker. What an amazing experience, extremely well qualified, gave us clear instructions on what to and what not to do. We caught a decent amount of shark, one stingray and had some great conversations. Hands down the best guide experience I’ve had to date.

Our eight year old son got the fishing bug two years ago and loves fishing so last year we decided to do a three hour inshore trip and loved it- caught an assortment of fish.  This year we decided to do a four hour inshore / near shore trip and had another great trip.  We highly recommend and will be going for round three next year.

Captain David did an outstanding job.  Great with the whole family. We went to three spots in search of fish, using live bait.  We booked a three hour trip and it went by so fast.  Although we did not catch a whole lot, what we did catch kept us excited and engaged.  We definitely recommend for your next fishing trip at HHI.
