  16th Birthday Fishing Trip

  4 Hour Inshore/nearshore AM 7-11 on July 7, 2026 • 3 adults

  Took my son, his best friend, and grandson out for son’s 16th birthday. This was an amazing experience for all. We started at the jetty’s, as well as every other boat in the inlet, we were immediately on fish and the birthday boy getting the first catch, small black bass, then I got two big flounder. The grandson and son pulled in a couple more small black bass and a couple toadfish then the son’s friend got a huge flounder. All the other boats were gone by now, we were the only boat catching fish, and the tide had come in. Captain Christi said let’s go for it, so we went close to the beach, got some bait and headed to 5 mile reef. It was a little bit of a rough ride but well worth the effort. My son and I both got two big redfish, too big to keep. Son’s friend got a baby Cobia then I got a pretty nice one both too small. Then Colton (friend) hooked up on what we are sure was a very nice Cobia and it worked him out for a good half hour before finally breaking off. All of this was done on light tackle, #2 spinning reels on 6-7 foot medium rods. At one point everyone on the boat was hooked up. It was controlled chaos, the good kind. My grandson didn’t fair well in the open water, never got sick but was a little green. Captain Christi turned into Cpt. Mom and fixed him right up. This was the best fishing trip I’ve ever been on. Christi is the best you will find in Muriel’s inlet. We were the only boat catching fish from hearing the radio traffic. Our first mate worked his butt off and knew how to catch fish and kept us catching fish. I highly recommend Reel Salty for your next fishing trip, you will not be disappointed.

  We had a fantastic 3-hour fishing trip and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Captain Grant and first mate Taylor were both friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly patient with my two kids (ages 8 and 5), which made the trip especially enjoyable for our whole family. They made everything easy, fun, and stress-free, and really went out of their way to make sure the kids were engaged and having a great time. It was the perfect kid-friendly outing and a great introduction to fishing for them. We’ll definitely be booking again on our next trip to South Carolina!

  So much fun!

  This was my families first time on a fishing charter and we had a great time! Grant and Cullen were very friendly and knowledgeable. They always made sure we had fresh bait and gave us pointers on how to catch the fish. We caught 3 different types of fish and were able to keep 2. They cleaned the fish for us to take home and eat. My boys love fishing and had the best time. We even got to save a kayaker while we were out that had tipped over. I highly recommend this charter to anyone.

  Captain Grant Was Awesome

  My family had a chance to go on a 3 hour evening trip with Captain Grant and we had an awesome time. Captain Grant put us on the flounder all evening and we came home with a bunch for dinner. I have been on many various charters all over the country and fishing with Captain Grant was the most enjoyable of all them. I highly recommend going out with Captain Grant if you are looking to catch some fish and have a very enjoyable experience.

  I didn’t know what to expect bc I have two young kids and I thought it would be more stressful than fun but the guides Grant and Eddie were phenomenal with my kids. They kept it simple for them and safe and didn’t get frustrated or impatient in the slightest. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting or even in the area! They’re both very knowledgeable and hey you get to go on a boat! A win win
