February, one of the best months for act

February tends to be considered our slow month. Many species are out of season, weather can be hit and miss, and taking alot of meat home is tough. But the action is incredible. The lack of fishing pressure has bigger fish ready to give you a great battle. If you are looking for great action, tons of awesome pictures, and cooler weather, this is the time of year for you.

Cobia fishing ready to explode.

The gulf currents are warming up. The Cobia fishing is starting to be very productive. Artificial eels, certain skirted jigs, and different lives baits work well. Sight fishing is the best technique, troll near shore in 2 to 10 ft clear water and cast infont of the cobia and prepare for a very strong fighting fish.

Had a nice time with Captain James. The fishing conditions were bad and we could not do any deep sea fishing due to bad weather. The bay was also very choppy. Fishing was not good due to weather, but Captain James worked very hard to get a few fish in the boat. He did a great job of making a nice trip in bad conditions. Would like to give him another try next time in better conditions.
