Cobia have been immigrating back through the Destin area. For the last few weeks we have been hooking up with a few larger sizes. Cobia is known for being one of the best eat fishing in salt water.

Red snapper season is booking quick

Looks like we are going to have another awesome red snapper season in the Destin area. The season is from the 2 week of June the the end of July. Season time frame is subject to changes by the state of Florida. Bookings are going quickly. Definitely don't wait too long to book before all of the dates are gone. February, one of the best months for act

February tends to be considered our slow month. Many species are out of season, weather can be hit and miss, and taking alot of meat home is tough. But the action is incredible. The lack of fishing pressure has bigger fish ready to give you a great battle. If you are looking for great action, tons of awesome pictures, and cooler weather, this is the time of year for you.

Our day started catching bait. Then we moved to a spot for Amberjack and it became BATTLE ROYALE. We landed two on the boat and a third was eaten up to the head. Thanks for an amazing review. We definitely had a very action packed day. We battled the sharks a good part of the day. I think they won the battle , but we still get the 2 place trophy and ended up with a good dinner and a few great memories. Next trip down we definitely need to get back out for round #2. Captain James was very knowledgeable where the fish in season hang out, and didn’t dawdle or stay too long if the fish stopped biting in one spot. We tried several styles of fishing and he helped me and my kids reel them in, making it a very memorable trip to the Gulf. We caught a lot of smaller mahi mahi (due to time of season they’re still growing), Vermillion snapper and amberjack. Unfortunately the red snapper we had to catch and release because they weren’t in season yet.

Captain James was great! He worked hard to make sure we got the experience we were going for! We caught a little dinner and several other fish even though the bite wasn’t as good as he thought it would be. He was also considerate to our kid who got sea sick. No chunks in the boat! Lol! He took us in a little early because of choppy water conditions and offered money back. Many memories made on this trip! Biggest fish we have caught! Thank you Captain!

It was a slower bite and we had to earn the fish we caught. Rough conditions makes it a challenge for sure. We gave it a great effort and had some success. It was a true pleasure to spend part of the day with your family. We need to do it again with a little calmer water next trip out. You all did fantastic. Captain James
