- My name is Captain Woody. I first starting as a deckhand with my grandfather in Alaska. Ever since I was 18 years old, I've been running charters as captain, with half of my professional career in Sitka, AK. Commercial fishing lingcod, and running sportfishing trips for Trophy salmon and halibut. The other half here in Huntington Beach, CA. Fishing was always my first love. Looking back at family pictures of me as a child, you would always see a fishing rod in my hands! Hands down, My favorite species to catch is Calico Bass. It takes me back to my earliest memories of catching Largemouth and Smallmouth bass in lakes when I was young. I'm looking forward to getting out on the water with your group and passing on all of my knowledge to make our trip successful!
