Background: Growing up on Lake Erie all of our captains have over 80 years of local knowledge, and we want to share it with everybody. We specialize in Walleye, Perch, and Smallmouth Bass.
Techniques: We troll spoons and crankbaits for walleye and also have extensive knowledge in drift fishing with crawler harnesses. For smallmouth we drift tube jigs across many of our natural reefs and anchor on them and fish with live bait. Perch fishing we find a school and anchor on tip of them and use live bait on perch spreaders.

Walleye fishing at its best

Today we had a short crew but the fishing was on fire. Not only did they get a limit to take home but the grade of fish caught really shows how good lake erie really can be.

This late in the season I think it is hard to catch a limit of Walleye or the guides just don’t have the energy to care enough tondo that. When I went out with a different boat a couple years ago in May in the same area we caught a 6 person limit in 3 hours. The mate also cleaned our fish dock-side. That was a 5 star crew and outing. Nevertheless, it was a pleasant day on the water.

Really sorry Richard you didn’t feel we are a 5 Star Charter. May is definitely a better time of year for Walleye. August can be a tougher time of year, as to why we advise to start at 6am to get the early bite. We do not advertise fish cleaning as our marina does not allow it. However myself and Captain Chris did offer Bays Edge a separate business that does provide that service, they even come to the boat to collect the fish. Thanks to Josh and his wife!!!! I booked this charter for my husband and my dad, as a gift for my dad’s birthday, not knowing what I was looking for and with absolutely no intentions of going myself. I felt some peer pressure from my mom, she just wanted to be on the boat to catch some sun. We ended up going with the guys and we all had so much fun! Booked for a Walleye trip for 2 dads and 3 older kids, but as the walleye weren’t biting, went for perch instead. Easy as can be, all we needed is our cooler for drinks and snacks, our cooler for fish, and they supplied the rest. Was a little bit of a learning curve on catching the perch with his technique but he put us where the fish were and caught a bunch. He let us be as hands on or hands off as we liked. Josh and Ruby were great guides as my family got to experience Lake Erie for the first time. As a group we had limited experience fishing but they took care of everything. My kids were amazed at how many fish they were able to catch and the size of them. I even got an idea for a steelhead appetizer from them that I’m gonna use when we have our fish fry!
