This weeks fishing report has been hit or miss. Some days the trolling on the third reef Between 80-350 foot has been great with quite a few Bonitas and king mackerels still biting consistently. The wreck fishing in the deeper water is still good as well. Quite a few larger Amberjacks still on some of the deep wrecks. The offshore mahi fishing is still hit or miss. Some boats are catching quite a few, but a lot of guys are still striking out. Shark fishing continues to be phenomenal…! The shark population has definitely rebounded and is becoming a large problem for a lot of the Bottom fish species. Such as Groupers Snappers and Amber Jacks. This week’s fishing report consist of lots of Bonitas…. Both of The Marlin My Darlin Boats had large catches of Bonitas and Kingfish consistently this Week. We have also caught some larger barracudas, including Two very nice Wahoos as well. The Mahi fishing offshore continues to be slow. But the wreck fishing continues to be paying off with a few small snappers and several large Amberjacks. We’ve also had a few large snappers get eaten by the sharks that seem to be very abundant this year.

This weeks fishing report has been good. Most of the boats have gone out and have caught at least some king fish, if not full limits. Along with a box full of Bonitas. The offshore Mahi Mahi Fishing continues to be hit or miss but some guys did have a good day’s this past week. Still a handful of Wahoos around anywhere from 150’ out to 450’. Also, the black fin tuna‘s are still biting late in the afternoon. These fish are a little smaller this month Than They were last month but it’s still a good time to be out there. Direct fishing has slowed down. We’re not seeing nearly the amount of Amberjacks or snappers on some of the deeper wrecks Offshore in Fort Lauderdale. But that is common as we come into the Summer time.

This past week the summertime fishing has really picked up. Both of our boats have had great catches of King mackerel with a few mahi’s mixed in. We’ve also had a couple Sailfish releases as well this week.

Today we went out and did a little bottom. Fishing with some repeat customers. It was a slow start, but we ended up doing fairly decent. The Weather is looking good for this weekend.

We are pleased to say in this report that our fishing charters have been consistently producing some nice fish for our anglers here @ Marlin My Darlin. Blackfin Tuna have been a catch on many recent charters and as you see in the photos of recent anglers there have been some very nice ones among some other species. These Tunas are one of my favorites for eating and many of our anglers share that opinion. We continue to pick away at the Sailfish but as in all fishing as fishermen know “everyday” doesn’t happen. That said the ones we are seeing are healthy adult fish. Kingfishing has steadily improved and scoring on them most trips as we move into early May. Amberjacks and snappers on wrecks, we expect some Mahi and Wahoo. High season for Large Sharks both resident and migratory. May is a good month to be offshore fishing in Ft. Lauderdale as many species will be frequenting the waters here and hopefully be bending our anglers rods.
