Let me start off by saying this review is not about catching fish but a lack of professionalism by the captain. To start off, before we left the marina the captain had to bum bait from one of the other captains. You could tell by the response from the other captain this was not the first time nor was it going to be the last.  He was like the guy in high school that was always bumming cigarettes but never buying a pack. With a few Live fish in the live well we headed out of the marina. He took us out and around the mangroves the trip was about 30min to the first spot. Once there we only stayed for a few minutes and we were off again to another place. After fishing at the second place for about 10 minutes he was on the phone looking for more bait. He said he had to meet a friend that had a bait bucket. When we arrived at the bait bucket there was nothing in it. He was still on the phone and said he had to go out and meet a friend on the flats and off we went. After driving about 45 minutes to the middle of nowhere he said his boat was having issues and he had to reset his GPS. At this point there’s no other boats around us and no sight of his friend. Next thing we knew he turned around and started heading back towards the marina and yelled I see my friend. We pulled up next to him and got some more bait. The captain told us he was taking us to the greatest place ever to catch tarpon.  Once we were in the spot we stayed there for about 15 minutes and he was like reel your lines in we’re going to an even better spot. By this time the sun was going down we’d already been on the water almost 4 hours and fished for maybe 40 minutes.  He took us out to a spot and said there’s sometimes sharks here (I think that’s all that was there). We fished there for about 15 minutes and lost two hooks that’s when he told us he didn’t have any more hooks so we were going to try to fish off some docs with lights. He started talking to a friend of his about meeting him for drinks and was trying to talk us into going in early. At the end of our six hour trip we only spent maybe an hour fishing and the rest of the time driving around in circles. At that time we also realize as the day was coming to an end we were only a few minutes from the marina. He had drove around wasting time instead of allowing us to fish.

Did not seem to target sought after fish discussed before trip. Seemed ok with just catching 10” mangrove snapper after discussing wanting big fish to put in freezer.

Would also play music on boat so loud we couldn’t hear each other talk while fishing.

This trip would be great for some frat guys just wanting to get on the water and have fun; not so much for an older couple wanting to really fish.
