Was a Good Friday indeed.  Booked the Hot Tuna for a 3/4 day with the wife and two sons.
Captain Joe worked with us on a departure time as the water was pretty choppy the day before.  Starting out trolling and landed some nice Kings and Spanish mackerel.  They were hitting as soon as we boated one and dropped the lure back in on the surface. After getting a decent amount we went bottom fishing and landed a variety of fish (hog, porgy, scamp, mango, grunt). 
Mate Brandon was working overtime and was great with the boys in getting the fish boated and the lines back in the water.
Got our catch cooked up at a local restaraunt (Red,White & Booze) and it was delicious.
Was a great day out and would highly recommend these guys.

We were a group of 6, and we were happy to all be able to sit together! Even as beginners, everything was explained very quickly and all our questions were answered along the way. The crew was very helpful, especially Brandon! It was a long boat ride out, but once we started fishing it was well worth it! 5 of our 6 in the group all caught fish, and they cleaned the ones we could keep for us. Great way to spend a morning.

I originally booked for a Tuesday. Captain Joe contacted me Sunday morning to ask if I could do a different day, due to projected weather conditions. He provided me with two alternative dates. I really appreciated his flexibility and how early he reached out!

Once we were on the water, the crew was quick and very professional. Help was always available, sometimes before you could even ask. It made everything very easier and enjoyable.

Overall, this boat’s experience and professionalism made it one of my top trips ever. I would love to go out with them again.

I have done many fishing charters over the years when visiting St. Pete Beach. This particular trip was one of the best yet! Starting with location, most charters I’ve done, we’ve had to travel to the Pasadena/Gulfport side of Boca Ciega Bay which isn’t that big of deal but the convenience of this boat being right off Gulf Blvd,  in Dolphin Landing, is extremely convenient and you do not need a fishing license! The boat ride to the fishing spot took over an hour so be prepared if you are bringing children. The total travel time was close to three hours for us there and back, but it was an enjoyable ride, we were able to see dolphins! There’s both inside (with AC)  and outside seating as well as a restroom. They do provide cold bottled water, but you could bring your own cooler if you wanted to. In my experience with deep sea fishing they would use live bait fish, but on this trip they used cut up pieces of Squid which is easier in my opinion if you’re planning on going with your family/kids. During the trip we caught 20+ fish which included, Gray Snapper/ Red Snapper and Lizard fish. We were able to keep all the Gray snapper (red snapper was out of season). I probably caught more fish during this trip than I ever have on any of the previous charters I’ve been on. Maybe it was just a lucky day, but the fishing was great. I would highly recommend this for anyone! The experience was easy/low stress making it great for kids and families. The deckhand was able to debone the meat while on our way back to the dock, which I thought was incredible. Then we were able to take the meat to a local restaurant called Red, White and Booze, where they cooked all the fish we caught! (almond crusted & blackened is the way to go). Overall amazing trip!
