    Great day of fishing

    3 Hour Trip (PM)4 adults

Beautiful boat - clean, comfortable, well maintained, smooth, quiet. Excellent equiptment - rods, reels, tackle. Captain Joe was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to our needs. Worked hard on our behalf for the duration of the 3 hour charter. Helped us catch lots of fish which he then cleaned and bagged for us. We packed them on ice, took them home, and had them for dinner that same evening. Delicious! Highly recommend for beginners and advanced anglers alike. Will definitely do it again.

    Reported catch:
    Scup (Porgy)
    Black Seabass
    Flounder
    Response from Captain

Thank you for the great review! Glad you enjoyed the boat, equipment, and, most importantly, the fishing. Nothing better than going home with fresh fish for dinner that same night! It was a pleasure having you aboard, and I really appreciate the recommendation. Hope to see you back on the water again!

    A Memorable Trip

    5 Hour Trip (PM)4 adults

Captain Joe and his mate Josh showed us a great time. We have lived in the area for a long time and had fished the Duck Island Rhodes waterway a lot. Captain Joe took us to places we had never been and helped us learn to fish them. A very experienced boat handler and fisherman himself, Captain Joe used the technical information available to him to put us on fish with the right rigs. He knew just when to pull up lines and move on, covering a number of good places in the five hours we were with him. By the end of the day, we had a fish hold filled with several edible species, including a good number of sizable sea bass. Near the end of our trip we came upon a downed osprey floating on the water. Captain Joe took the time to rescue the bird and take him to a safe place. Quite a Captain, quite a day!

    Reported catch:
    Black Seabass
    Response from Captain

Thanks for the great review! Glad we could show you a few new spots in water you already know so well—and put some good sea bass in the box along the way. And yes, the osprey got a ride to the Ranger Station, where he resided. Just part of the five-hour adventure! Appreciate you fishing with us. Captain Joe & Josh

    Fantastic Day on the Water!

7 Hour Full Day Trip (AM)4 adults

This was our second trip with Capt Joe and it was just as epic as our 1st trip!! He knows exactly where to be for each type of fish depending on the tide and conditions and boy did we catch a bunch of fish!! We started out catching Black Sea bass and honestly lost count of how many we caught and released. We also caught some porgy and sea robin! Had quite a few keepers. We then moved over to the “Rip” where we used some diamond jigs for Stripers and boy was that fun! Ended up with one keeper but we caught some overs and a few unders. If you want to fish light tackle and have a great time catching fish Capt Joe is your man!!! We’ve already booked our 3rd trip with him for later this year!

    Reported catch:
    Black Seabass
    Striped Bass
    Scup (Porgy)
    Response from Captain

Wow!! 🎣😄 Thank you so much for the awesome review and for coming back out with us for trip #2! It's always great to fish with returning customers, and this trip definitely delivered the action. The Black Sea Bass seemed more than willing to cooperate—we may never know the final count! 😆 It was great to put together a mixed-bag day with Sea Bass, porgies, sea robins, and then finish things off at the Rip chasing Stripers on light tackle. There’s nothing quite like feeling a Striper smash a diamond jig and put a bend in the rod! Most importantly, I'm glad everyone had a fun day on the water and went home with plenty of memories (and a few keepers for dinner). Thanks again for trusting me with another trip and for already booking trip #3. I can't wait to get you back out later this year and see if we can top this one! 🚤🎣 Until then, keep those fishing stories flowing and save some fish for us next time! 😎🐟 — Capt. Joe

    Five Hours of Fish

    5 Hour Trip (AM)2 adults1 child

Our trip wish Captain Joe and One More Drift was all we could have asked for. My son and I had a great time and we're catching fish almost immediately after a short transit out. Captain Joe made sure my 11 year old son stayed engaged and put us in position to catch a steady stream of fish. He wasn't afraid to change locations as conditions changed. Overall I'd definitely recommend One More Drift.

    Reported catch:
    Black Seabass
    Scup (Porgy)
    Bluefish (Tailor)
    Response from Captain

Great first time on a charter boat!

    3 Hour Trip (PM)3 adults2 children

Joe was very friendly and knowledgeable, perfect for me and my kids. He got us out earlier than planned to catch the tide and a bluefish feeding frenzy. We also caught some sea bass and porgies, the latter of which we cooked up when we got home and were delicious. Overall I would highly recommend One More Drift to anyone!

    Response from Captain

Thanks so much for the great review! We were glad to get out a little early and catch that bluefish feeding frenzy—it’s all about being in the right place when the fish decide to cooperate! 😄 I’m happy you and the kids had a great time and were able to bring home some sea bass and porgies for a fresh meal. That’s a pretty good ending to a day on the water! Thanks again for choosing One More Drift Charters and for the recommendation. Hope to see you all back out soon!

August Fishing Recap – Rocks, Reefs and

Aug 23, 2026 • Clinton
**August Fishing Recap – Rocks, Reefs & Topwater Action** August has been a busy and diverse month on the water! The **rocks and reefs** have been producing plenty of action, with the **porgy bite staying strong** and **black sea bass starting to pick up**. The **bluefish are beginning to show**, and the best part is seeing more of them push bait to the surface and create some exciting **topwater action**. We’ve also had a few **Spanish mackerel** mixed into the action, adding even more variety and some fast-paced fun. On a personal offshore outing, the **tuna bite was absolutely hot**—a great reminder of just how good the offshore fishing can be this time of year. As we head toward the fall run, the variety is only getting better. **Rocks, reefs, topwater bites, and plenty of rods bending—August has been keeping us busy!**

July Fishing Report – Stripers Slow Down

Aug 1, 2026 • Clinton
July Fishing Report – Stripers Slow Down, The Reefs Heat Up July has brought a change of pace to the **Long Island Sound fishing scene**. The striped bass bite in our area has started to slow down, but the fishing certainly hasn’t slowed down with it. If anything, the **reef fishing has gotten a whole lot more interesting.** The **black sea bass are showing up strong**, and we’re seeing some absolute knuckleheads coming over the rail. These are quality fish that put a serious bend in the light-tackle rods and give anglers plenty of reason to keep fishing the deeper structure. Then there are the **big porgies**. We’re finding some real **hubcap-sized porgies, or golden sea bream**, showing up on the shallower reefs. They hit hard, pull surprisingly well, and make for some great light-tackle action. And we’re also getting into some **quality fluke**. The summer flounder bite has been producing some nice fish mixed into the reef action, adding another quality species to the list and keeping everyone guessing about what’s coming over the rail next. That’s what makes **July fishing out of Cedar Island Marine in Clinton, Connecticut** so much fun. Conditions change, fish move, and we adjust. Instead of spending the day waiting for a trolling rod to go off, our anglers are **holding the rod, working the structure and actually fighting the fish.** **Stripers slowing? Maybe. Fishing slowing? Not even close.** Right now, the **Long Island Sound reefs are producing big black sea bass, large porgies, quality fluke and opportunities for striped bass**, depending on the conditions. July is shaping up to be a great month for **light-tackle fishing, reef fishing and multiple species out of Clinton, CT.** **One More Drift Charters** Long Island Sound Fishing Cedar Island Marine – Clinton, Connecticut **Striped Bass • Black Sea Bass • Porgy • Fluke • Light-Tackle Reef Fishing**

May -July where epic months for striped

Jun 1, 2026 • Clinton
June Fishing Report – One More Drift Charters June was an **epic month for striped bass** on Long Island Sound. The bigger fish really started showing up on the deeper reefs, and when the tide and conditions lined up, the striper action was hard to beat. We spent a lot of time working **deeper structure and reefs**, targeting striped bass with light tackle and putting the rods in our customers’ hands. There were some quality fish around, with plenty of hard-fighting bass keeping everyone busy. As June progressed, **black sea bass numbers really started picking up** as well. Mixed in with the stripers, the sea bass provided plenty of action and kept the rods bent when we moved around looking for the bigger bass. The best part of June was seeing anglers get to experience these fish the way they should be caught — **casting, jigging and working the structure instead of sitting around waiting for a trolling rod to go off.** The deeper reefs are producing, the black sea bass are getting more active, and summer fishing is officially underway. **June was a good one. July should be even better.** — Captain Joe **One More Drift Charters** Long Island Sound Fishing | Cedar Island Marine, Clinton, CT

Spring Run Stripers 2025

May 25, 2025 • Clinton
The Spring Bass Blitz is On! This year’s spring run has been nothing short of epic—stripers are feeding across every stage of the tide and smashing just about every jig we throw their way. But don’t get lazy—technique still matters. Day after day, we've been out-fishing every boat around us, and it’s not by luck. The secret? Dialed-in retrieval speed and matching the hatch. If you’re tossing a 10oz flutter spoon while they’re keyed in on squid... well, let’s just say you’re in for a long, quiet day. Fish smart, fish sharp—because the bite is red hot, and the bass aren’t waiting!
