Captain Mike was extremely knowledgeable and put us on the Speckled Trout.  We had a fantastic day!

The trip was for our two 11 year old grandaughters. Starting with the phone call from Capt Mike, welcoming us and trying to get info on our wants and expectations. When he was told that 2 of us were 11 year olds he got excited about showing them a good experience and he did. When we got to the marina, he was ready to go, well prepared and offered us different options on what to fish for. He is very knowlegable of the waters and the tricks to use to help catch the fish. He spent much time with the kids, helping them, showing and teaching them. They really enjoyed the trip and would like to go back fishing with Capt Mike. I am very happy with the fish we caught and enjoyed our trip.

I booked Capt Mike before I even drove down to the OBX and he called me within 10 mins to say Hi, get an idea of what I wanted to do and he was ready for me at 7:30am on Monday (June 17, 2024) and within 10 mins of leaving the dock, I was setting the hook on Sea Trout.  I had booked a 4 hr charter and didn’t want to kill my limit, only wanting to throw some filets on the grill.  I think we caught 10 during the 3 hours we were out and by 10:30- I told Mike that I was ready to head in.  The Sunday sunburn I got and the full sun we were getting was just too much for me.  Mike was working hard all morning- checking in w other charters to see how they were doing… and honestly… we were doing better than most.  We casted for Sea Trout with a ‘popping corks’ program.  Being that the bay was shallow- less than 5 ft in most areas- casting made sense.  But, Mike did tell me that some boats out there have very different programs, so be sure to ask the captain what he likes to do, and make sure that’s what u had in mind.
I would DEFINITELY book Capt Mike again.

Great trip with Captian Mike.  My wife, 16 year old son and I were lucky enough to book a short notice trip aboard Sounds Good.  The communication prior to the trip was excellent.  We arrived early to find the live well filled with bait and the captian ready to go.  Headed out to a reef site where we caught several beautiful speckled trout.  Captian Mike kept fresh live baits on a few rods while we casted artificial.  He was generous with switching out colors and damaged soft plastics.  As more boats started crowding around us, he had several other spots with less boat traffic for us to fish.  More importantly than the fishing, Captian Mike was great with my family and I would highly recommend him to experienced anglers or a family just looking to catch fish.

We had a wonderful experience today fishing.  I’ve never fished off a boat and I caught just as many as my boyfriend Jeff, did.
Mike, the captain taught me how to hold and reel the fish in! He was very patient and kind!
Couldn’t have been a better day!
