- Background
- I have fished our local waters since the late 60's and owned my own boat and fished alone since I was 13 years old. My family has owned a beachfront cabin since 1958. in front of the best fishing grounds and my grandfather gave me the fishing bug. We still have the cabin today. I started my full time guiding career in 1986. and have since enjoyed the company of people from all over the world. I'm also on the board of a couple of non profit society's that do Salmon enhancement projects in our local waters. One since 2001 and the other for the past 6-7 years.
- Techniques
- We troll very light tackle from downriggers for salmon. I normally target larger Chinook salmon unless they are not available or out of season. I have always tried to provide the lightest and most fun tackle for my guests. Halibut fishing is done by anchoring up in one spot and dropping baits to the bottom and waiting for them to track us down by the scent our baits produce in the water column.
