Background
Captain Mark Maloney is a third generation captain. He began his 'charter' service career in 1972 at the age of eight. Back then, his equipment was a 10' aluminum Jon boat, the classic 'Red Flyer Wagon' as the trailer, the famous Zebco 202, and a Maxwell House coffee can filled to the brim with worms. Today, he has more than 25 years of experience fishing in the St. Petersburg area. He says, 'What better way to go to work than by boat?'
Techniques
Live bait offshore and inshore fishing we cater to clients preference in fishing style when at all possible... When a specific fish, technique, or distance from sure is important to the client, please contact your Captain for details. Every day and trip is different, depending on the trip booked, weather, season, time of day, water temperature, water clarity, tide, and moon phase... Always book your first available fishing day if a better weather day is available I will do my best to get you out on the best day possible. All species are not available on every trip. All fish have a specific habitat they prefer... Example: In our area you will not catch a Red Snapper on a 1/2 day charter. They prefer deep water past 40 miles offshore. Our objective is to provide an enjoyable and productive experience for the trip booked. With countless variables in fishing there are trips that are super productive and some that can be more challenging. It is the nature of fishing. Whatever style of fishing you prefer, just ask and I will give you an honest report and do my best to put you in the best situation to meet and hopefully exceed your expectations... When conditions are clearly unfavorable or dangerous I will cancel trips in advance. Cancellations are done with the client's best interest in mind. However this is the Captains call and will consider all factors to make the best call for all clients. I do not 'push the envelope' when it comes to weather... If it is too windy offshore I may offer a client option to fish Inshore if they prefer, due to their schedule ect. (I recommend always taking your Captains suggestion, whoever it may be.) Our boat is a 30 Dorado, and is designed and built locally to do both Tampa Bay and Offshore sportfishing. Tight lines!
