Captain Jimmy was not clear on the total price of the trip and did not make me aware of tipping 20% to his crew until we got back to the dock and after I gave the 1st mate a cash tip.  The 1st mate was knowledgeable and more help than captain Jimmy but captain Jimmy was not clear on tipping and he was very rude about how he handled it in front of other people.  I do not recommend taking captain Jimmy Bailey on a fishing expedition because he is rude and does not know how to handle paying customers.

We didn’t catch any fish the weather was to bad to go out no other boats went out I feel he took us out knowing we wasn’t going to catch anything just to make him some money this trip was a complete loss of time and money for me.

My two sons and I go fishing on vacation annually and have for years.  Key West is one of the best places to fish in the world…supposedly.  My boys and I spent six hours on Hooked Up only to catch three barracuda, a baby Mahi and a Bonita.  The fish were not biting….and being an angler myself, I know enough to know you switch up the bait, location, lures, etc.  None of this was performed by Hooked Up.  As well, the captain tried to be “nice” and only charge me for half a day.  According to Fishing Booker, the full day rate was $1100, and I paid $200 ahead of time.  The captain informed me Fishing Booker keeps all of the deposit…he sees none of it.  According to Fishing Booker, I was to owe $880 today for the full day, thus I should’ve only been charged $440 by the captain (I was charged $600).  In all the years my sons and I have fished, we NEVER had an experience as poor as this.  Again…no attempt to switch up the bait, lures or location.  Save your money and go elsewhere….perhaps with a charter captain and mate who know how to fish or at least how to respond when the fish aren’t biting.  Truly disappointing trip…we won’t be back..
