Hi Gary,Thanks for coming out with us and glad you enjoyed the day and caught some fish. Just to clarify the situation regarding the pick up service.We can provide a pick up service in the morning,if requested ,and normally charge $20 per person to help cover the costs. We don’t offer a return service in the afternoon as we are busy organising the boat for the next day, we are a small business and simply don’t have the resources.In your case we provided the service free of charge as a courtesy. We believed that we had advised you that we couldn’t give you a lift home ,but accepted that you hadn’t got that message so did say that we could do it. In the afternoon, just prior to running you home, I was advised that there were major disruptions to the traffic north of Cairns, due to a sporting event ,and that it would take me over 3 hours to get back to the marina and finish preparing the boat for the next days charter. I explained this too you, apologised,and asked if you would be ok the catch a taxi, which you said you were. Its regretful that a $54 cab ride home ,between 2 people,was a black mark on your day, you did get a free pick up,and free filleting of your fish, our decky’s normally do this in their own time and charge a small fee for it.
