Booked a whole day trip from Cairns for reef fishing. We headed north & hit up a few spots on the reef. Depths varied from 7m, 25m, 35m to about 50 metres. Locations were spot on and hits were constant. Good species variety, coral trout, spangled emperor, trevally, reef sharks etc and rigs set for mackerel and tuna - no luck on this occasion. I landed in excess of 40 fish for the day and about a dozen different species. Crew were friendly and approachable and happy to answer any questions. These guys live, eat and breath fishing. Boat I booked had eight of us on board & plenty of room.

I booked the full day reef fishing for my 3 sons. They each came home saying that they had a fantastic day. The skipper was knowledgeable and made the day fun, the fishing was great and we enjoyed our bbq fish for dinner. All in all, they agreed it was the best fishing charter experience they had ever had.

What a fabulous experience doing a 2 person private charter with Cairns Reef Fishing.  These guys know their stuff and catered to all our needs.  They made the day so much fun we are still talking about it 2 days later.  Would highly recommend a day on the reef with these guys.  One for the memory bank!

Best part of our trip to Australia.  I was a little hesitant to book a fishing trip with 10 to 12 other people. But our captain knew exactly where to go and the fish just kept on coming in.  Even people that looked like they didn’t have a clue as to how to fish were pulling in big ones.

We truly went “fishing with the professionals” in every sense of that phrase. We have done salt wishing in Australia, Mexico and the United States on a number of occasions, and without hesitation give Dan and Jason the “highest marks.” Ten people were fishing throughout the day at various levels of experience, and at all times either Dan or Jason was “on the spot” when needed to provide fresh bait, assist (if necessary) in landing a fish, helping to unravel tangled lines and provide helpful advice and guidance. In addition, Dan went “over the top” when he dived overboard and swam out 50 meters to retrieve a nice sized fish that had become unhooked alongside the boat but was still floating on the surface. Also, Dan and Jason successfully resuscitated a large cod (50 kg or more) after it had been successfully fished by a young man celebrating his 30th birthday, following appropriate photographs, and returned it to the water to continue its life. Finally, Dan moved the boat throughout the trip doing his best to continue to find fish, rather than just sitting on a few spots. All in all, a wonderful day with two very competent and impressive young men. They are “keepers”!
