    From bait to restaurant

    Half Day Trip – Shared • 5 adults

    Our dkipper Jacob caught live bait which we used to catch a nice mixed bag. We caught about 10 different species. We weren't equipped to clean and take our catch, so Jacob offered to clean it. When we discussed preparing the fish, he offered to take it to the Ochre restaurant where they would prepare it. He brought the fish there and made a reservation for us. The fish was fantastic and the presentation amazing. We definitely would recommend the fishing and the dining.

    June fishing trip

    Half Day Trip – Shared • 2 adults

    Jacob was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. After cast netting for our bait he took us up to a spot in the search for a Barramundi but was unsuccessfully, but a few undersized cod were landed. Next we dropped anchor in approx 21m of water and snapper, jewfish, lots of hairtails kept us busy. Last stop at inlet entry provided the catch of day a solid blue nose salmon at 75cm. A fabulous morning with a delightful skipper.

    Great Aussie captain, full of knowledge

    The day was great and well organised. Plenty of space on the boat and a chiller full of ice to keep drinks and food cold. Captain rotated between 3 fishing spots which were all great. We caught a 70cm Barra, and a few other fish. Great day and the captain made a great effort to keep the chat up and environment positive. Highly recommend for the price

    Excellent Fishing Trip!

    Half Day Trip – Shared - 12:30 PM • 2 adults

    We booked this half day trip as we wanted to go fishing but were only in Cairns for a few days with our partners. Jacob, the Captain was an excellent host and extremely knowledgeable about fishing. The equipment was good and the boat was comfortable and everyone on board had an excellent time. We caught five species during the trip and Jacob even tried to find a crocodile for us to take a look at. A great little fishing trip that I would recommend to novices and experienced Anglers alike!

    Excellent fishing trip

    Jacob was a fantastic skipper and took us to some of his favourite fishing spots. Everyone on the boat was able to catch a fish my Barramundi was the highlight of the trip. 5 different types of fish were caught even a rare scalloped head hammer head shark. I would highly recommend this fishing charter.

Spring arrives, and with it comes humidity, which will build up until the rainy season arrives in December. Heavy tackle season starts as female Black Marlin come to the reef to spawn.

Barra Bonaza

The fishing has been a Barra bonanza over the last few days with the big run in tides on the morning charter. Bait has been plentiful to gather with the cast net with the barras preference being live mullet. There has been a couple of 'horse sized ones that we have landed a also a few that have got away. you have to be patient when hoping to land one of these trophy fish and let them inhale the live mullet all the way before setting the hook. The black moon was yesterday so the tides will start to decrease over the next week and that will give us the opportunity to fish the deeper holes around the estuary that hold some monsters.
