The Catch

The fishing has been a Barra bonanza over the last few days with the big run in tides on the morning charter. Bait has been plentiful to gather with the cast net with the barras preference being live mullet. There has been a couple of ‘horse sized ones that we have landed a also a few that have got away. you have to be patient when hoping to land one of these trophy fish and let them inhale the live mullet all the way before setting the hook. The black moon was yesterday so the tides will start to decrease over the next week and that will give us the opportunity to fish the deeper holes around the estuary that hold some monsters. Till next time, tight lines. Captain Jim
