Great communication. Great Capitan.

I rarely write reviews, but we had such an awesome time on F/V Odysea that I needed to share our experience. Right off the bat, Capt. Ralph confirmed our inshore, half day trip and gave us all relevant info to be prepared. Him and mate/deck hand, Mike, were a couple of the most genuine people I have met…knowledgeable, professional, experienced and extremely personable. You’ll catch as many laughs as fish!

Capt. put us on a lot of good size Bluefish with a few Stripers thrown in. It was an action packed trip that left us a bit sore the following morning! We had a mix of fishing experience in our group, including, “I’ve never held a fishing pole before.”  …and it was a ton of fun for everyone!

If you’re looking for a high quality private fishing charter out of the Cape, I really wouldn’t suggest looking any further than F/V Odysea with Capt. Ralph. We’re already talking about planning next year’s trip with him! Thanks Capt. & Mike for a great day!

The weather forecast was continuously changing in the days prior to the scheduled outing. Captain Ralph was on top of the weather and communicated with me often.  He offered solutions to work around the iffy weather. We ended up having a fantastic trip and our family of four caught a lot of fish. Captain Ralph also cleaned and prepped our catch for us. A big thank you to Captain Ralph for his communication, flexibility and for an excellent fishing trip on the last day of our vacation on the Cape!

Captain Ralph was awesome and knowledgeable. We had lots of questions along the way- we had two kids ages 5&7 and he taught us a lot about fishing, the ocean and the boat. We caught two fish at once seconds after dropping the line but had to throw them back as they were undersized. We got to see a whale breech Twice! Then we caught a big bluefish to take home for dinner on the way in.

It was more than we ever hoped it would be. Late in the season we thought we would be lucky to catch a few bluefish but did not think the stripped base would be possible.  Captain Ralph knew right where to go and then the luck started. The first 14 Lb Bluefish was to be the largest of the day but the last catch of three stripped bass on one line and two of the keepers over 28 inches was jaw dropping. After an exhausting morning pulling in 4 blue fish, six stripped base ( two returned to the water) and one lost big bluefish. We settled to cleaning and eating our catch. Through the whole adventure Captain Ralph was there teaching us, encouraging us and laughing with us. Could wish for a better or luckier day that the one we had with Captain Ralph. Will definitely fish with him again.
