- With over nine years of dedicated experience in the surrounding waters of the Low Country, the world of inshore fishing has become his expertise! Captain Rodney Summers’ experiences with teaching and coaching throughout his life have translated into a passion for instructing out at sea. Originally from South Carolina, he began building his love for nature with routine fishing, hunting, and being in the great outdoors. He attended Coastal Carolina University, and was a teacher, and coach for 32 years. In 2016 he moved to Bluffton for the opening of a High School as both a teacher and a Head Football Coach making his new home in the Lowcountry. In 2021 he started integrating his experience into a classroom without walls! Join Captain Rodney today where his goal is to give you a new favorite memory out on the water.

- Here at Southern Summers Charters, our variety of fishing waters and fishing styles are as vast as our aquatic species. With us, your corks and jigs can be thrown amongst oysters, bays, grass lines and creeks! No matter the time of year, we have possibilities to explore. To make matters even more interesting, we like to fish amongst different locations depending on the season and climate to ensure the best catch will find its way to you!
