Captain Mac was very knowledgeable, personable, and helpful with the boys showing them how to go after the big ones. The boys and I had a great time catching many different species but the keepers were elusive on this one. Mac kept getting us to the spots to go after the fish which made the time on the water fly by.  It was a great time and we will definitely see Mac and Boomer again. Thanks, Mac for making this a very memorable trip for me and the boys! They’ll be talking about this one for awhile.

The boat was clean and well maintained. He had all the rods and bait ready for us. He was so patient and helpful. We caught fish and he kept the hooks baited!!! Excellent trip!! Will definitely call him again.

My adult son and I had a really great trip out on a beautiful, calm, unseasonably warm December day. I really appreciated the extra time a 6 hour trip provides vs a 4 hour trip, especially since it gave us enough time to go 12 miles offshore to an oil rig.

Captain Mac’s boat is well equipped and perfectly maintained. First mate Joey seemed to spend every minute that he wasn’t helping us with bait and fish cleaning the boat and keeping it tidy. It was really good to have a 2nd set of hands onboard.

Boomer, Captain Mac’s Boston Terrier was also a fun addition to the crew as he took it on himself to chase off pelicans that got to close.

Captain Mac did a good job getting us on fish and for the most part, we did our job catching them. A lot were undersized but it was still a lot of fun. We fished outside the Port Aransas jetty, at the offshore oil

We fished 3 different spots and caught 8 different species, some desirable, others not so much.

Off the jetty, we caught over 20 Sand Trout, some really nice sized that we kept, a Bluefish (first ever on the boat according to Captain Mac), also a Toadfish (Eww!) and some Hardhead catfish.

At the oil rig, we caught 15+ Red Snapper (all undersized but entertaining), a Triggerfish, and a Gafftopsail catfish. We caught a few Snapper early near the bottom in 50’ of water then it seemed to go quiet. The water was so clear that we saw a Triggerfish follow up the bait. To try to catch it, I dropped the bait back down to about 10-15 feet and immediately caught a Snapper. We started to fish shallower and caught snapper that were suspended. Changed tactics to try different depths starting near the bottom and then coming up until we started seeing bites and things really lit up. Only took home the Gafftopsail catfish from the oil rig, it was the biggest fish.

Heading back inshore, we caught 2 undersized redfish and another couple Hardhead catfish.

Both Captain Mac and first mate Joey did an awesome job of keeping our bait fresh and getting our fish off and back in the water quickly. Both were very knowledgeable and friendly. Boomer was a hoot. He needed a lap a few times when the water was rough heading to and from the oil rig.

When we got back to shore, Captain Mac got the boat out of the water and First mate Joey got our fish filleted very nicely while we headed off the restaurant next door. We came home with bags of sand trout, catfish, and bluefish.

My family and I CANNOT express just how AWESOME Captain Mac and his deckhand Joey where! They provided the BEST fishing exerience we have been on. If you are looking for a more personal experience and with a more intamite setting this is the booking for you. Captain Mac was so informative and provided lots of education of both fishing and just overall “fun facts”. We had two fisherman who dont fish much and he guided and insturced them so that they had the best exerpeicne. The trip was well worth the time and money. I could go on, and on and on about how wonderful out time out on the bay with Mac was but I dont think it can do as much justice as if you book with him. Mac & Joey will come HIGHLY recommended and will be used by our family for many years to come!! THANK YOU MAC FOR THE BEST FISHING EXPERIENCE, we will see you next year!!

Did a 3/4 day bay trip and had a great time. Captain Mac was funny and friendly and put us on a lot of fish. His dog boomer was a sweetheart and a real joy to hang out with. Would highly recommend Blue Line Charters and will be booking him again next time.
