Captain David is an outstanding guide and extremely professional when it comes to tarpon fishing. He knows the water very well, understands tarpon behavior, and always puts you in the right place at the right time. His boat handling, positioning, and instructions throughout the fight were all spot on.

He was patient, knowledgeable, and made sure everything was done correctly and safely, from the setup to landing and releasing the fish. You can really tell he has a lot of experience and passion for tarpon fishing.

David Baez calls these waters home, he knows them like the back of his hand. We hooked into massive tarpon on our trip and fought them on medium spinning tackle which was quite a challenge. I booked with captain Baez because I felt assured he was going to be our personal guide for the trip, not any random captain.What surprised me pleasantly was how friendly and warm this captain is. We fished with him for two days and he made us feel like old friends. He was always encouraging and with so much fishing knowledge to share he is a blessing to Puerto Rico and us visiting anglers to the island. He made the furthest and most accurate casts on spinning & fly gear I have ever seen in my life. He helps you build your technique too which is very gracious of him.  I can’t wait for my next trip to San Juan to go fishing with Captain David again and really recommend you book with him if you want to do some serious angling.

I was able to fish with my own equipment and lures while bait soaked on the Captain’s. I lost a Ladyfish and a Snook on my equipment. The Captain got me hooked up on my first Tarpon, a small one, and a few minutes later I got my PB Tarpon at about 45lbs. That was the biggest fish I have ever caught!! The bites slowed down on the back half of the trip and we tried several spots, but that’s why it’s called fishing and not catching! Captian Baez was knowledgeable of the area and we had a great conversation during the trip. I highly recommend using Tight Lines PR on your next charter that you want to book! While everyone might not catch a big tarpon, the Captain knows how to provide the best opportunity to have a chance! Thanks again!

Capt David provided an excellent afternoon of tarpon fishing for myself and 2 boys aged 10 and 14, the 14 year old had never fished before.
Captain David had us on the fish from the start, gave great instructions and both boys started catching tarpon almost immediately. I also caught several tarpon including the biggest fish I’ve ever caught.
We all loved the experience and I am looking forward to a return trip soon.

Somedays the fishing is slow, that happens, but Captain David still did whatever he could to put us on fish and he kept the conversation good and entertaining. We hooked up about 5 times, but only landed one Tarpon, other guides confirmed they didn’t have much luck either, but we still had a great day on the lagoon. I’d definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a great experience hunting for tarpon in Puerto Rico!
