You won’t find a better boat to fish out of. Tons of room, not getting in each other’s way when fighting fish which you’ll be doing a lot of. Captain Curtis knows his stuff and knows where the fish are. If you’re not catching fish it’s simply because they’re not there. I have been on multiple trips over the last few years with Curtis and have never been disappointed. Not only does he know the waters of Ucluelet well .he knows where the fish are. The boat is big fast and most importantly SAFE for the rugged west coast you’ll experience out there. Overall the guy knows how to put fish in the boat ,whether your targeting big Halibut off the banks or reel screaming Chinook salmon Curtis will get you into them. The flexible times allow you to either get out bright and early or enjoy the day and explore Ucluelet then fish that fantastic afternoon bite.

3rd time out with Curtis and we’ve booked next year already. By far the nicest, best equipped boat I’ve been on.  Curtis takes pride in providing the best gear and equipment to give his guests higher chances of bringing in fish. And do we bring in fish!  Curtis knows the waters, fish patterns and uses his extensive network of fellow Captain’s to keep track on what’s being caught and where.  For us though, we were usually the first boat out and the others followed us.  My full freezer is a testament to the trip.

Now, the Captain himself… Curtis is an amazing human being.  His passion for people, entertaining and having a good time are the reasons I keep coming back. Sure, the fishing is amazing, but the company is even better. Whether is chatting on the trip out to our spot or passing the time waiting for the next fish on, Curtis is funny, worldly, thoughtful, informative and insightful.

At the end of the day if you want an experienced Captain, a beautiful boat and a fantastic fishing adventure, this is the guy.  Tight lines everyone!

If you want to actually catch fish on a boat that does not make you sick, this is the boat to be on. The boat and gear are all top shelf quality, run by the captain like a finely tuned machine. The captain makes the trip fun and enjoyable for people of all skill levels and backgrounds. Men that had a higher skill level than me were encouraged to grab the rod from the downriggers and play the fish alone. I had only been fishing once before booking this trip with Overtime Charters, so I was happy to be given the rod, after the rod had been taken from the downrigger and the fish confirmed to be within my skill level. The Captain was the perfect mix of stern, disciplined, but somehow laid back. When the fishing was on, the captain made sure everyone knew where to be; when the fishing was slow, the day was filled with laughter. Every fish I lost was met with calm instructive criticism that helped me greatly, as Curtis inevitably got me into more fish. I ended up with a limit of salmon and the morning, and a limit of halibut in the afternoon. I feel confident going back this year that I wont be starting from the bottom, and I will be going on this boat, with this captain, every year.

If you are looking to book your first fishing trip, or you’re a skilled fisherman looking to have a good time, this is without a doubt the best option.
