- I have been fishing my entire life and enjoy it year round. As soon as the ice is off the local trophy lakes I troll for trout and salmon. Spring tautog, squidding, fluke fishing and trolling for stripers and blues are a great time. As soon as the blue fin tuna show up and the season opens I start giant fishing. Tautog fishing in the fall is hands-down my favorite thing to do but I have fished for giants all over New England and have landed at least 50 fish.
