8+ inches on most local ponds and lakes . Some rivers have frozen over . Sunday January 24th i fushed the Mystic river hoping for holdover striped bass . Unfortunately no luck but we did get some nice largemouth , perch and crappie.

Saturday was a wonderful trip with a family of 3 . We caught bait and then caught then caught 5 striped bass all between 28 inches and 31 inches . All keepers. However, the bigger larger bass has moved south. Still alot of fun . Big bluefish make an appearance on most days . Unfortunately, the end is near . Fishing is definitely winding down . No more 20 fish days till next June

Fall feed is starting. The bass are fat and feeding heavily. Bluefish have shown up in good numbers some up to 15 pounds. Fall is a great time. Fishing can be a little more hit or miss, then july and August. However, the cooler temps and less boat traffic make it a great time to enjoy Boston .

It's amazing fishing despite horrible weather. The bad weather pushed the fish into a tight pod in downtown Boston whales. Bluefin tuna and large paleigic striped bass were feeding on pogies or bunker as the NY and jersey folks would say. Plus, we have a juvenile hump back breaching sometimes too close . Yesterday's 4 hour trip was a grandparents and their 14 grandson . They boated 20 fish, and the largest was 51 inches. Over 300 pounds in a four hour trip. All released healthy except one that fell in the slot limit 30 inches which they ate .

Bass fishing has been amazing. Lots of fish from 28 inches up to 50 inches .

These photos are from 3 charters this past week . All saw double digits bass catches while seeing a few fish over 40 inches . Lots of 33 inch 15 pound fish which is alot of fun on my light gear.
