First off, Andy made sure our entire family was comfortable and explained everything we would see prior to taking off. We moved out into the water and Andy took us to one of his many hot spots. We caught a fish on the first cast! That started the day off right. Trout after trout over each one of our drifts. Andy was especially kind to my son ( who has special needs ). My son desperately wanted to reel in a red drum, Andy switched baits, moved us around and BOOM red drum. Honestly this trip couldn’t have been any better. Captain Andy is one of the nicest people we have met and my goodness he’s one heck of a fisherman. I HIGHLY recommend coming out with Captain Andy, he can accommodate a self proclaimed professional fisherman or a novice just trying to catch a fish.

Something I would also like to note is how reasonable the price is for such a great experience. Poles / Bait / Fish / Music / and pure hospitality is what you will get. We will be visiting Captain Andy much more frequently moving forward.

This cruise was far from Boozie for us. In fact, it was quite memorable. I reached out to Cpt. Andy to see if he would be willing to help me out with a unique situation. My father passed away and had asked for a burial at sea two days prior. Due to time and financial restrictions, that was not doable for us. Andy asked if we had any specifics in mind, which of course, I didn’t. I was simply trying to honor my father’s wishes. I told him a little about our situation and a bit about my father…I asked Andy for input and he did not disappoint. We met, took a ride around the sound and learned quite a bit from Andy about the history of the OBX. It was like meeting up with an old friend. When we rode out to spread my fathers ashes, the spot was perfect and not only planned for sundown, which is symbolic for such an occasion,  but we also caught a beautiful view of the rising of the flower moon. The pictures do not don’t justice. It was so beautiful. Andy even took pictures of my husband and I spreading my father’s ashes, without being asked, which amplified the value he places on family. We will be back and hope to spend time with Andy again, learning more of the OBX and hopefully getting to do a little fishing! Thank you, Andy! You are simply a remarkable person and it was both an honor and pleasure sharing time and memories with you on our first adventure in the OBX.

We got into town late for a Grandfather/Father/Son fishing trip and Captain Andy was extremely accommodating and professional before we even started the trip. He moved the trip until later to let us get into town, and waited on weather to clear so we could still make the trip. We were only out a couple hours but had nice redfish on in the first 30 minutes.

Captain Andy is very knowledgeable, friendly, patient and accommodating as well as an excellent guide. Couldn’t recommend more—-especially for people fishing with kids.

Andy was great! Got out on the water fast and got to the first spot where me and my fiancée caught a good amount of spotted trout.The Captain was super helpful the entire trip. We tried two others spots for some different types of fish but we were a bit early in the season for a few of the species. Still an amazing trip and would totally do another one.

We started early and I emphasize that I have never been to NC before and that I wanted to catch a BIG fish. While I didn’t get the wall mount keeper…. the abundance of trout we caught was just as satisfying!! Andy was excellent! He knew his way around the sound and we caught so MANY speckled trout we lost count!! Andy was very pleasant, extremely entertaining and patient when I got a wind knot in the line. I’d definitely recommend him again. If ever in NC again, I’ll hit the sound with him to rip some lips!
