    Full day salmon trip Kenai River

    Full Day Trip – Private • 2 adults

    Even though we where in between salmon runs, Mike took us rite to where he thought salmon would be hanging. We limited out in several hours. Great trip and guide, no reason to look anywhere else. We’ll book with Mike again. Rick and Tina

    What a day! My son and I went out with Captain Mike and had the time of our lives. Knowledgeable and skilled at finding the best places and explanations of what to do. Additionally, there was an incident with another boat on the river, who needed assistance. Mike was quick to help and handled the situation with thoughtful professionalism.

Spring Alaska Kings Have Arrived

There is no better indicator that spring has sprung in Alaska then the arrival of Alaska King salmon in the rivers. Highly prized and notoriously elusive the Alaska king is extremely rewarding to catch. The recent high tides have brought with them pods of sea bright fish and exciting battles on the ends of our lines. Averaging 15-25 pounds this years springers are fat and healthy. These powerful fish have fast moves and they can put even the most experienced angler to the test. We had three lines in the water on Saturday and we landed two beautiful kings and lost two more, one of which was a real lunker. On Sunday the tide brought a few less fish with it. We had four lines in the water and we landed two out of the three fish we hooked up to. The run is just beginning to pick up steam and the fishing should continue to improve over the next few weeks.

Lots of Action Fishing Sockeye Salmon

The Sockeye salmon have arrived in force. We are catching lots of fish and they are as strong and fresh as can be. Great weather and a strong run of fish combined to give us the perfect conditions for a most memorable trip on July 13. The day started with a crossing on Skliak lake in picturesque conditions. We were welcomed to the Middle Kenai by several loons and lots of eagles crossed our path throughout the day. As great as the scenery was the fishing was even better. We were on fish right away in the morning and had lots of action all day. Everyone caught their limit of Sockeye on the swung fly and fought many more. This years fish are running 8-10lbs of pure fight. The fun has just begun because these fish will keep coming for the next three weeks and with 50,000 salmon a day swimming up river the time to come fishing couldn't be better!

King Salmon are on the Bite

Great action fishing the high tide for King salmon. Lost one early on and landed two fresh keepers just after the tide started flowing out. Randy and Sandy got it done and checked a new species off their bucket list. Lots of action still to come as the King Salmon run continues to heat up and the Kenai river fishing opener is just around the corner on June 11.
